rocken roller coaster

Does the rocken roller coaster run without breakdowns these days? Heard the the company that makes the coaster has a reputation for coasters wearing down fast!

All I know is that the times that I have been. I have never seen it down.

After the recent rehab, it's been pretty good.

Have to say I don't ever remember a time when it was down when we visit the Studios.

I have heard stories of problems, but never when we're there.

That's our favorite ride at MGM, we ride it at least 4 times during the day. So in all this time, it only broke down once - not a bad record (they told us to come back and gave us new FP's).

Talking about breakdowns, Test Track is the worst. Its not even a handicap person getting on, because the cars stop in the station. We have stopped multiple times right before the "crash test", of which the crash test car rarely goes anymore, and we all had headaches after they stopped us before the "launch." It snapped really hard and it made a bang noise. Also last year April 2003, it broke down on the return fast lane to the outer run of the building, we stayed there for about 10 minutes listening to announcements telling us that it may start going at any moment. I got horrible sunburn from that but they let us go around again, we got out of our car, and a CM came over and said that we could go around again if we wanted to, all the people on the station were kinda angry because of us getting to cut the line, there were about an entire station load of cars that got to go around again. I have another break down story but I will post that under Tomorrowland Breakdown, check that for the story..its not great but w/e...:lol:

Oh, RnRC breaks down....just not very often.

As for Vekoma's reputation, it's more related to the rides becoming rough after a few years. However, that is directly related to how the ride is maintained. Vekoma's seem to require a bit more TLC than some other coasters, but when properly maintained they do just fine.

Every ride breaks down sooner or later, RnR doesn't break down that often, thanks in part to the recent rehab. Thank god it's not like Test Track, which is perpetually broken down.

When RnR breaks down, IT REALLY BREAKS DOWN. I remember after a lightning storm this past August where that giraffe was killed at AK, RnR was shut down due to some power failures durring the launch. It was pretty bad, it was closed the whole day.

I remember over the summer i made it all the way to the boarding gates.....i only waited about 15 mins because of Fastpass...but it took an hour to get into a car. An hour later and about 15 test runs i finally made it on....after waiting for the next coaster....it was dissappointing.....
