First and last days park is always MK no matter what day we arrive or leave. The other days are done according to the crowd calendars advice which we have found to be fairly accurate. We always get the park hopper anyway so if we do find conditions more crowded than we like we can hop over to a lesser crowded park. We plan our trips so we spend at least 2 full days at each park, one partial day at DTD and then possible day trip or two off Disney. Remaining days are spent returning to whichever parks we want to revisit. ADR dining plans are made according to park days.

I try to plan the MK as the first day but we too HAVE to go there on our final day.

A lot of times my first day I play bus roulette. Whichever bus pulls in first is the park I go to.... But if I stay at BWV or BCV, I always walk to Epcot and meander around World Showcase.

I do enjoy the bus roulette though, as it requires that I have zero planning and no expectations which is how I want to start my trip - relax and enjoy the moment.

We've done that too - no pressure!

It depends who I'm going with. If I'm by myself or with my nephew, I tend to just go wherever I want to when I wake up... that usually ends up being Epcot, then hopping around to whichever park is open latest... except AK. I'll go to an early EMH for a few hours, then be done for the rest of the trip.
When I go with my friend, he likes everything scheduled out to a T because that's how I did it when we first started going. I go by the evening EMH schedules because the nights in the parks are such a nice atmosphere.

We use touringplans recommendations for the most part, and usually avoid evening EMH parks. We like to try and do MK as our first park, but predicted crowd level is the deciding factor.

I used to use the UG and the Lines app. Now, I usually just go wherever I'm in the mood to go.

I do think it is smart to avoid the EMH parks, though.

We use to hit the MK the day of arrival, always. When EMHs came about we avoided morning EMH parks. On longer trips we also avoided parks with EMH in the evening, can't do that on shorter trips.

If it is going to be long term rain we head to Epcot and on our two week trips we always put Epcot on reserve for rainy days. The pavilions are none to close however once in you can normally stay awhile, that was truly the case when my children were small, we would easily spend hours in Imagination, WoL, SSE with after stuff, Seas and Land. While Epcot's FW is a far cry from yesteryear, it is still a good option on heavy rain days.

It's been a must do ritual for us to say goodbye for now. Take those last few rides, look down Main Street, hear that last train whistle blow, listen to the last bits of Disney park music....And as part of our last day ritual, I toss a few coins in Cinderellas wishing well to wish for a return trip.

Heading off to the travel agent when I sign off and my wife is ready ....to book..... a Sept trip !!!!!!

Our last ride is on the Haunted Mansion and I have to be the last guest on it. I will dilly-dally in the queue just to make sure nobody else is coming.

And maybe we'll see you there in September, we're there from the 20-27th.

Look forward to it. Look for the guy with a stuffed Jiminy Cricket on the back of a blue backpack. He always rides there with me at Disney. My wife will have a stuffed Jiminy Cricket riding on the back of her power wheelchair. She will also have her service dog with her.
