In the preshow Steven Tyler is talking and to see out in the crowd he does a weird gesture I was just wondering what it means if anything?

He holds his middle finger down with his thumb and then turns his backhand towards himself and puts it up against his forehead??????????

Any ideas?

Is it meant to mean that he is trying to think of something...just my thought

It actually means something that's not exactly Disney-appropriate.

Let's put it this way - it's the only ride that a guest can make this gesture without the photo being "lost" because Steven Tyler does it in the pre-show.

Yes, it has a name.

Its not really appropriate for a Disney site.

If you're above a mature age and won't be easily offended, look up "the shocker".

He does that in concert when he is looking out to the crowd and talking between songs.

Kinda like he is shielding his eyes from the stage lights so he can see the people when he yells out "How is everyone out there in Dallas" but they are playing in Detroit!!!!

Actually, they do delete photos with it in them.

I won't be there again until October to check, but I really don't think he's making the sign people think he is.

If I remember correctly, I think he raises his index, pinky and thumb.......surely somebody has a picture or YouTube video of the preshow. :shrug:

But as was said before he does it in concert and has been doing it since the 70's. It's just him being who he is. Seriously, if he wanted to show the shocker or wanted to put another inappropriate gesture or word in there, he would have. If you don't get what I mean, check out the lyrics to Devil's Got A New Disguise and see what he got by the censors.
