Hello all.......in my spare time I plan to create a model of the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. If you have any resources I can use, it would be of great help. So far I have.....

1. about 6 construction photos

2. ordering RnRC blueprints

3. some exterior photos

If you can tell me or send me some pics or track layout it would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

SuperMan The Ride at Six Flags Holland is a RnRc clone, outdoors. Here are a few links to it. Hope they help.

The 1st link is to a page of pics. The 2nd is a link to an onride movie. It's an .avi file, and I don't know how good the quality is. The 3rd is the best aerial photo I can find.

Good luck with your model, and keep us up to date on it. :) Do you plan to enclose it with the RnRc building, and if so, will you be able to lift the building off of it?

Cheers

I've got a plan of the coaster that I drew myself. Do you want a large jpeg? (Is that a silly question?) Actually since your email addresss is in your signiture I could have sent it directly to you but sending large files to strangers could be considered annoying.

you can also check out the collercoaster database (rcdb.com) for more pics of the superman ride and http://www.rocknrollercoaster.com as well (although there will be some repeats

I assume you're getting the 3 blueprint set that's been going around the net. It has the preshow building well documented but trying to determine the layout of the track from that blurry picture is a pain (not to mention trying to follow all the structural columns and it has no indication of where the large signs are at all)

Pooh- thanks for ALL the great info, it is much appreciated. To answer your question, I plan to make the building a large lift off (I did this for a college architecture project- comes out nice). I am going to use fiber optic to light up the different sections.

Enfilm- you can email to me, I would deeply appreciate it. Thanks for the links, I have them saved!

You guys are great. It will take some time for research, then I plan to make a separate base just to mold the track pieces, paint them, then place them on a final base. When I have something that looks like prgress, I will post!

enfilm - thanks for the link to www.rcdb.com :) That's the page i was looking for last night to give to MonorailBlack. I'd forgotten what it was called. Thanks again.

Peace Love and Mickey...

I am very happy with what I have received, thanks guys! Honestly, with the info you supplied, I think it will be more difficult to create the interior quene areas thqan the track. I plan in the next few weeks to first create a photo album of the pictures I now have. This serves as an excellent reference. Then I will make a paper track model (compliments on Enfilm's track diagram) When that gets done, I will post pics so you can help me determine if the track layout looks correct, before I go to molding it in plastic.

Enfilm- the dimensions you put, are they heights or length of the track?

The hardest will be finding what lights up where during the ride....the Hollywood sign, doughnut, streets signs (I think by a brake point) and the mini city lights you can see to your bottom left) I want to make this as accurate as possible.

I don't know a lot about modeling. Do they make some type of plastic strut that holds the two rail the proper distance from the center rail. I assume they must.

- the dimensions you put, are they heights or length of the track?

They're the heights of the track at that point I read that the top height was 80' so I started subdividing from that (although I'm sure you'll find they need more work)

The Hollywood sign is at the first big curve (I think it's on my drawing) and you're right there are signs at the two brake zones ("Civic center" and "Oncoming traffic ahead") I have a video of it somewhere (windows media or real time or something) Do you have it? Like most videos it's mostly jerky shadows but since they're well lit you can see what the signs look like (figuring out where exactly on the ride they are is an other problem). I always assumed the mini city was in the middle of the building.

The best way to figure it out I guess would be to go to FL and ride it over and over and over. It's a rough job but I'm willing to do it.... No, don't try and stop me I know it will be a long painful process but I'm willing to sacrifice for the sake of the model. A geek's gotta do what a geek's gotta do.

LOL....enfilm.......you seem alot like me. I could not possibly let you go thru all the work of riding over and over again, that is just not fair for one person to undertake.

Your subdivisions of height is the exact same way I make plans of modles that i do not have the blueprints of. Thanks for the info.

I don't have video of the ride, if you have one and can email, it would be great. I have real player and windows media player.

I plan to use paper first to plan out the track, since paper forms very easy. I will cut strips and curve them to form the track. Then to make the actual finsihed model, I am going to make a template of the truss that holds all three parts for the track together- the base beam and the two ride rails. I will use a thin plastic to route the base beam, attach it to the supports, then attach the trusses.....followed by the rails the trains ride on. This should be fun!

Ok...I watched it and help me correct this.....

1. Launch
2. Half Loop/Inversion/Half Loop
3.Large curve/Hollwood Sign
4. Brake trim/Civic center/Oncoming Traffic
5. Beverly Hills sign
6. Corkscrew?
7.Brakes again/Vip sign?
8.doughnut pass thru
9.City lights/stadium
10.arrival tunnel

I know this is not perfect, so correct as needed.

near the end of the ride is an oncoming traffic sign and if u look down and to the left u can see the next train launcing through the first tunnel.

Thanks! I thinks that is a little 'bunny hill' that crosses over itself and then runs parallel to the launch. I should post a pic of a quick model I am owrking on. It is to try to figure track layout. I have just done the launch and first part of the inversion. The first inversion is very complex!

Glad you asked- doing models like these, you have a greater appreciation of these rides. I had no idea what happens during the first inversion. I am now past the launch and first loop and inversion, working on the large roundabout cruve that travels thru the Hollywood sign. I need to upgrade my WDWMagic account so I can post pics. I emailed Enfilm and pic of the model, mind you its paper strips and bass wood. This is so I can see exactly how the track goes and where the supports are. If you want, I can email ya a pic, if you PM or email me your address(see my signature). I imagine there most be a few hundred supports on this ride, and there is no good pic of it. Even the Spiderman pics are hard to make out where the posts are.

I have blueprints on the way, which should help. I had to transfer the model onto a lrger base. This ride has a weird shape. The launch and return are a narrow rectangular building, while the unload/load area is a triangle, and the 'gravity room' is two interlocking rectangles. So now I have it on a huge 1/2 inch foam core base.

I would love to have that onride, if you can, email it to the address in my signature. I have a pic I will post, I just upgraded my account to post the pics. So far, I have a paper model with the launch, first inversion, and am planning out the curve. However, once I do the large curve (thanks Enfilm), it may be to hard to do all the lower level itmes in the middle, so I am going to wait on the curve, and work backwards from the end now. So I am going to go on the final brake run, and the bunny hill at the end. I am doing my best in the little time I have at the end of the day, so progress will be slow, but sure.
