RNRC question...

Hey everyone! I just wanted to ask a simple question about RNRC..

Soooo, I've been to both of the big U's parks.. I've done The Mummy over there but nothing else really. I also love E:E and can do it about 5 or 6 times in a row without getting a headache..

But I've never done an inverting coaster, and everyone has been pointing me to RNRC. But looking it up and I am kind of worried about trying it. A friend of mine (who has done 315 coasters around the world..) almost got me on it the other night. But I would love everyone's honest opinion of this: Is E:E worse than RNRC? A lot of people I know have been telling me Mummy in the back and E:E are more intense/worse then Rnrc..

Please tell me what you think! I would really like to know. :)

Well, I can't say for sure that it's still like this (last went in 2011), but RnR is much smoother than EE. It also depends on where you sit. The back of a coaster is usually going to be affected more by the G-Forces than the front.

Also, RnR was my first rollercoaster with inversions (my younger sister dragged me on!). Because it's dark, the props are flashing past you, and there is awesome head banging music, you don't really know when or if you are upside down. And compared to EE, EE has that backwards ascending helix. In the dark, that's (IMO) more terrifying than RnR.

As for the Mummy, I don't know, because my sister and I chickened out of the queue (dark, claustrophobic tunnels, mummy groaning sounds and no one else in the queue freaked us out)!

And if you like RnR, definitely try the Hulk coaster in Uni:IoA! It looks a lot more intimidating than RnR (given that you can see it), but it is an absolutely smooth ride, and even more fun!

If you've done the Mummy then you should be fine, seriously. Going upside down isn't that strange a feeling, not more than banking tightly round a corner really. RnR isn't very tall either so no big drops such as The Hulk etc and being in the dark you can't really see height as such anyway. The most extreme reaction you get on RnR is when you accelerate quickly at the start, it's the best part of the ride too. Seriously try it, if you've done the Mummy then you're moving up a level only slightly by 'advancing' to this.

RNRC is the ultimate starter coaster for beginners. Inversions are not scary at all and they last all of a second or two. Other than the launch the rest of the ride is pretty smooth and fun. Definitely try it, I don't really like coasters that much but I can ride RNRC many times in a row since it isn't scary or anything and it is great fun. It's also short so if in the off chance you weren't enjoying yourself then it is over pretty quickly. Go for it and then you can work your way up. :) It is about the same intensity as the Mummy so you'll be fine.

Mummy and RNRC started me thinking it would be cool if there was a ring of fire as you go through the corkscrew part of RNRC - I'm guessing that won't happen though...

Personally I find rocking rollercoaster to be much more intense than Everest. Everest is really just an overgrown Thunder Mountain, whereas Rockin has a pretty vigorous launch and several inversions.

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I rode it about 5 times before I researched the attraction online and finally realized it went upside down. I'm pretty sure if Space Mountain was a bit fast and went upside down you wouldn't notice either.

The magic of having a coaster indoors and in total darkness! :p

I can only do EE once or twice back to back before I get a headache but I can do RNRC multiple times back to back with no problems. The flip on it isn't that bad at all. I think the darkness helps a lot. I also drag race a lot so the initial stat of 0-60 isn't that bad for me.

It's a easy starter coaster for those new to loops and inversions.

It's pretty short and very smooth, close you eyes and you probably won't even realise you've gone inverted.
The only real difference you will see is the different type of restraint system...in that it's a over the shoulder type restrains rather than the simple lap bar that you are no doubt used to.

My mother will not ride any inverted coaster.....except RnRC, she never realised it was inverted and came off it still not realising it. She still loves re-riding it, but still won't try others.

EE and RnRC are 2 completely different roller coasters. EE is a typical gravity driven roller coaster. It is smoother than SM because it uses newer technology. RnRC is an induction rollercoaster. It is propelled by altering the polarity of magnets. It is a MUCH smoother ride than the other coasters on property.

It really depends on what makes you dizzy. If going upside down will give you a headache, then this will. They are very smooth and quick. The themeing inside almost makes it feel as if you are not upside down too much.

RnRC is definitely a good ride to start out with if you've never done inversions before. I think it's because it's indoors. Others at maybe Universal/IoA are outdoors so they tend to be a bit faster, higher, and more intense (but still really fun) I think. But yeah, you should be just fine on RnRC for a first inversion ride.

As a quote on quote "Coaster Enthusiast", I will go on any coaster (spinny flat rides are a different story :p). That being said, out of the many coasters with inversions that I have been on, this is one of the least intense and one of my personal favorites. It's definitely one of the best beginner coasters for anyone. Personally, I think the most intense of the ride is the launch, as you're chest and head are lurched forward into that boomerang. Hope that helped!

As others have said, it is possible you will not even notice the inversion on RnRC. It really is a pretty tame coaster.

I think you people are underselling it.
You pull more Gs on the launch and the first two inversions on Rockin' than on Hulk, even though Hulk feels much violent because of all the changes in direction.

Just do it and judge for yourself. It's a Disney ride, so it isn't a big deal at all. No reason to over-react to it and get yourself all freaked out.

Thank you everyone for commenting ^^ It means a whole lot. And I will be possibly trying it next trip!

psst Vekoma fakes their stats.. They really want to compete with B&M, so they say "Oh, let's put 5 Gs as the launch, and 4.5 as the inversions!" when in reality, no ride in the us can pull more than 4 Gs. Because regular humans (not trained..) could pass out. Heck, E:E pulls 3 on the backwards spiral, and 2 on the uphill helix and drop into upswoop thing.
