How long is Aerosmith going to be featured with this attraction? Can't imagine anyone else being featured but I know it can't be forever

Word that I've heard is that they planned to change the music every few years. However Aerosmith found a loophole that allowed them to stay the featured music indefinitely.

I don't know about that. The way it's set up they could change it at almost the drop of a hat. Last time I was there I saw that they had added the Aerosmith name to the guitar but other than that, they have a separate board on the wall of the building that could easily be changed, a preshow movie that could easily be change and an on-ride soundtrack that cold be changed with minimal effort. On the other hand, as long as none of them get arrested or caught drunk in a hotel room with someone underage, I don't see it changing any time soon. They were a good pick too because even though they have a sort of wild history, they are rather sedate guys these days. (which makes them safe) Because they have been around so long almost everyone has heard of them - they easily cross 3-4 generations of people. Also, they don't really repulse any single demographic group the way others such as Brittany Spears, Back Street Boys, Metallica or many others might. It's probably the same reason they were the backbone of the Super bowl Half Time Show. They were the ones that everyone knew and more than likely didn't dislike.
As far as Aerosmith finding a loophole, I can't imagine them ever putting Disney in the position of not being able to change. I just don't think Disney will see a need to anytime in the relatively near future..

Brittney Spears? Back Street Boys? Bite your tongue MrPromey! They would have to rename the ride Bubblegum Coaster.

Safe bands to use?:
Continue with Aerosmith
Bon Jovi? (Jon has been in a couple Touchtone and Hollywood Pictures films)
KISS (might work)
REM
U2

Any others?

C'mon Disney Freak! RnR needs too bee Metallica themed! Bon Jovi!? They want music not vomit enducers! It would cost WDW a fortune for all the barf bags!:D j/k Some Metallica would be sweet though..........not a big fan of the song fuel but it would fit with the ride......except they would need to get rid of the black light efects and add something more along the lines of hellish flames.

I think mrpromey is exactly right!

And of course we have to keep in mind what cry babies the members of Metallica are when it comes to copyrights. They'd sue Disney for using their name before the ink on the contract was dry!

how many "safe" rock bands are there for disney?

first you'd have to eliminate all the bands that have had members croak, including the likes of led zeppelin, ac/dc, nirvana, def leppard and the who.

then you'd have to ditch bands with satantic influences, such as black sabbath, motley crue, ozzy, deep purple, iron maiden and the rolling stones.

next, nix all the bands with prominent ***uals, including queen, judas priest and janes addiction.

others are simply too non-disney: guns 'n' roses, metallica, pearl jam, megadeath and any other grunge-metal band.

(note: some rock bands fit into multiple categories.)

finally, some rock bands are simply too lame. bon jovi, poison and nearly every other glam-rock band from the 80s (motley crue and cinderella being the exceptions) spring to mind.

personally, i like l.a. guns and queensryche, but they're not mainstream enough. another personal favorite, cinderella, would be a good fit. but i don't think they were ever popular enough.

that leaves...let's see...van halen, kiss and...and...that about it. if you went with van halen, would it be david lee roth or sammy haggar or whoever's next? that's a problem. kiss is less problematic, from that perspective. but i knew a lot of losers who were in the "kiss army" back in the 70s, and i'm afraid these people would show up in droves.

if they must change, my choice would be......(drumroll, please)......spinal tap!

Dopey, you made a point with 'tallica. Diney would be over run by law suits...........its sad that Metallica has turned so corrupt and money hungry. I dont think KISS would work out at all do the the rumors of them encoding satanic messages on their records....I dont like KISS at all anyways(just the action figures). Van Halen well if they were to reunite van halen with roth it would take an amazing feet to restore Roth to him former self, the guys almost as bald as a radioactive lab rat! I'm not sure what band would work out good.......aerosmith really seems like a logical choice.

Queensryche! Good to see another fan. Excellent band that never got the attention they deserved. Operation: Mindcrime has got to be one of the best albums (did I just date myself?) done by a rock band.

I remember Cinderella but weren't they considered a glam band? Ahh the glory days of Heavy Metal. You think maybe Twisted Sister would work? I love watching VH1 behind the music to see where some of these guys ended up.
