RnR coaster ?

I need some help. I'm going in Sept. with two of my college friends who like roller coasters more than I do. I like roller coasters, but not huge drops. I even like loops, but not the drops that usually precede them.

A friend told my husband that there are no big drops in RnR. Is that true? I'd love to ride it, but not if it's gonna take me the rest of the day to recover.:p

i've been on NITRO twice and let me tell you, that is one of the most intense coasters ever! my pal passed out on it BOTH times! i think that first drop may just be too much for some people, but damn what ride :)

RNR is great - my only complaint is it's very short, but i guess that's coasters for ya (though NITRO is near 5 minutes long i believe)

I'm impressed, popkid...I live 45 minutes from there, and I never go...just seeing that first drop makes me ill.... I chaperoned several trips there these past few years... I hold the kids stuff while they go on... Do you like Medusa and the others, too? I'll stick with WDW myself...

funny, i live about 45 - 1 hour away and i hardly ever go there either... though i've gone twice this summer to entertain friends who were visiting... all we rode both times were the coasters (with the exception of freefall). medusa is very smooth, and a lot of fun, and funny as it sounds, a nice and relaxing coaster...

the only real scary coaster at six flags: great adventure is rolling thunder (wooden coaster). it's such a rickity (word?) ride and you feel like you're going to get thrown from the train at any second... not to mention how you get slammed into the sides during the corners... riders beware!!!

ps- for those of you who don't know, NITRO is a monster of a coaster at Six Flags - click here to see for yourself

here's a shot of me and some friends on Medusa... that's me all the way to the right (notice the mickey mouse shirt :)

Rolling Thunder is one of my student's rides...he's a manager or head operator of it...promised me a spot at the front of the line if I drop by... thanks, but, I'll pass....

:)

popkid, you live north, right? I'm here, at the shore... :)

well, if coasters are your thing, NITRO is one worth taking a road trip for :)

yep, i'm up north - right outside of manhattan (looking out the window at the NY skyline right now)

as for rolling thunder - you would be wise to pass on it ;) we all hurt after that one...

rock n rollercoaster is the coolest rollercoaster ive been on. there is one loop but no huge drops. its also really short so its almost impossible to get sick i think. if your going to disney its a ride you have to go on. i hate shockwave in gurnee. your head is constantly banging against the sides. its the roughest coaster ive ever been on. vertical velocity is the best coaster at six flags, followed by raging bull and batman

YO HO, A Thread restarters life for me!

I love the opening launch of the ride. As soon as the music starts and everybody else is screaming, I'm the only one thinking to the music!

:D :D :D
