Riverside or AOA?

Hello Everyone!
We are currently planning a trip to the World. We usually stay at POFQ but my mom has decided to go with us this time around ( after asking her for the fourth time), so there will 3 adults and 2 kids ( 11 and 9 year old boys ). We are trying to decide between Riverside and AOA! Been weighing the pros and cons of both for weeks and decided to turn to you guys and gals for help and suggestions!
I have been reading these boards for years but never wrote before, please be gentle! :)
Thank you!

The bigger question of this whole discussion is how many rooms and what type of rooms are you getting?

If it were me, I would get 2 studio rooms at AoA or Pop Century. This gives you 2 bathrooms and 4 beds. It will cost less than a Suite at AoA.

Never stayed at POFQ so, I can't weigh in on that but, we stayed at AOA in September & loved it. It has great theming & the food court is awesome. The only cons we had were the buses aren't as efficient as POP's & the walk from LMRs are a bit far but, other than that it was a great stay overall.

Depending on the size of the children, the extra bed at POR may be a little small. I'd find out the measurements of the bed before making a definite decision. I personally love POR, but AoA might fit your needs better. I've never stayed at AoA though.

What experience do you like better? POFQ and PORS is DTD area w/ a choice of a "princess royal room", but they are not very large rooms as most moderates are smaller. A of A- a suite is expensive, but I'd do it in a heartbeat. Did you think about a cabin at Fort Wilderness or even a family suite @ All Star Music? AofA only has bus transportation as do all value resorts. PO has boat launch to DTD and cabins have a boat launch to MK. It just depends on if you're looking for a swimming pool w/ a slide ( values do not have this). There are many factors, but whichever you choose, you'll love it all!:D

If the comfort of the bed is important, then don't pick AoA. The beds are only full size and hard.
We are driving and staying in the Cars section this time, stayed in Mermaid room in September, we are taking a couple of egg crate foam for the bed. They fit in the large space bags and can be vac'd down fairly small.
We stayed in Royal Rooms at PORS in June and the bed was much softer. Even though we love the theming and food court at AoA, we would do two rooms at PORS if the price was close to the 30% off at AoA when we are going.

I would also go for two rooms at POR. After a long day at WDW its nice to have a little extra room if someone needs to nap, watch tv without too much noise or take a shower in peace. I think your mother would probably appreciate POR and its lovely theming. Have a wonderful vacation whatever you choose.

Getting two rooms, even at a value will be a much better idea overall. It also lets whoever needs a break from the family to get one. The kids can room hop and stay with you or your mom. It makes everything a lot simpler.

One room at POR is going to be way too cramped. AoA is better than that, but will require someone to sleep on a pull out couch, which stinks for that person. 2 rooms is the way to go.

I've stayed at both and honestly, while AOA was awesome with the theme, I wasnt comfortable there at all. If you are in the bed near the hallway, its loud from echo's down the hall and I felt like I was staying in a big themed dorm. Even the bedding, quality of beds, pillows, etc. was scratchy and just overall not comfortable. :( I'd do POFQ if you can.

We were staying at POFQ and ended up switching to AoA Cars suite. Mostly because of the space, it is new, and we LOVE cars! So obviously i would say AoA.
