We have stayed at Pop Century twice and Caribbean Beach once and now thinking about Riverside. We love Pop but never really liked Caribbean that much. Looking forward to hearing some pros and cons of Riverside.

Riverside is my FAVorite... *sigh* There really are no words to explain it, but there are many devoted POR lovers who come back time and time again. We stayed there once back when it was Dixie Landings, then went to CBR the following trip, and it just wasn't the same... I'm headed to Riverside next month for the 4th time and cannot wait! The resort itself has a very cozy relaxing feel to it, personally what does it for me are the grounds. There is nothing like a peaceful stroll through alligator bayou! We don't really eat at the foodcourt there too often but even that is nice in my opinion, and taking the boat to downtown disney is a tradition my entire family looks forward to each time :) Multiple times we have come back from dinner and have had the small pool behind our building completely to ourselves, if you go during certain times of the year, you really do almost feel like you're on a very private vacation.

I agree POR is very relaxing, I think it is the landscape :) The river, the trees and the overall layout makes it very relaxing. Our last night there (last Saturday) we watched the free outdoor moves near building 90. Very nice, watching a classic Disney movies next to the river on a nice nice :)

We liked it so much we already booked at POR next year in September. The onsite food is pretty darn good as well. We ate at Boatwrights and it was a excellent meal.

We are very fond of POR. There is something very majestic about the resort, the setting will take you back in time. As a previous poster said, certain times of the year you feel as though you have a private vacation spot. We like to request staying in Magnolia Bend area, a bit less rustic then the Alligator Bayou section. I enjoy Yoga on the rivers edge, very inspiring. I love the idea of a fishing hole on property along with the horse and carriage rides.

And the marshmallow roast nightly at the pool! 7pm-7:30pm all you can stuff in your mouth for free!

I've stayed at both Riverside and Caribbean Beach. I've never stayed at Pop but I have stayed at the All-Stars, which is very similar.

We absolutely loved Riverside. The atmosphere was just fantastic. We never spend much time at the hotel (it's parks, parks, parks with me) but I liked it a lot better than Caribbean Beach, and a million times better than the All Stars.

I am planning our first trip there in August 2012 and we have chosen to stay at POR. I just love it. I have been pouring over every website I can find with information about it. This will be our first trip to Disney ever and this resort just looks so peaceful.:sohappy:

POR is our favorite of the Moderates, although it's not quite the same since they did away with breakfast at Boatwright's. We prefer the Magnolia Bend area - we're not really into rustic:lol:

POR is fantastic!! Outside of the Poly it is our favorite resort.
Even when staying at the Poly we will go back to POR for dinner, a nice quiet walk or a ride on the ferry. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Best Moderate eVERRRR..

Although we've only stayed at Carribbean Beach and Port Orleans Riverside.
Yes, the setup is beautiful and if you stay in Magnolia bend, it's just a short walk to the foodcourt. The canals offer boat rental fun and transportation to Downtown Disney. The kids pool is a nice setup with a cool slide from a treehouse-like theme. There's also 5 'quiet' pools around the resort, regular rectangle pools with laundry services. The foodcourt is AWESOME! Burgers, chicken fingers, design your own pasta, sandwiches, make your own salad. Deserts include apple turnovers, ice cream sundaes, milkshakes, cookies, brownies. They also have a bar and a sit down type restaurant. Nice size store to get all kinds of last minute gifts to bring home to family and friends.
NOW.. the only con...:( the buses! It could take as much as 30 mins to get the bus you want or if you're lucky, 5 mins, either leaving the resort or waiting at the parks. That is the ONLY thing I don't like and feel like they should have more routes. Sometimes you have to stop at French Quarter first before you hit Riverside. The lines at the parks are sometimes VERY long for Riverside because, I believe, its one of the most visited Moderate resorts. There IS a way around this if you don't wanna wait for atleast 2 buses to move the line, hop onto a French Quarter bus. It's only one stop when it gets to French Quarter and then walk about 5-10 mins to Riverside. They're right next to eachother.
As you can see, we LOVE Riverside and will 'put up' with the small pains to enjoy Walt Disney World. I mean, come on, it's WALT DISNEY WORLD.
78 more days for US!!!

BEST. RESORT. The Harper's Mill Food Court is amazing (try the muffaletta, at lunch, and the roast beef, at dinner) as well as their pools. They have a few nice realxing ones, as well as Old Man Island. I don't know if you have kids, but it's a blast for the little ones! Kiddie pools as well as a waterslide (not too big though) and a water runner meant to look like one of those drains from an old mill that dumps water into one section of the pool! Fulton's (gift shop) also has some of those neat Animatronic displays or characters like Goofy, Donald, and his nephews unloading cargo, etc. Also have surreys, the bike-carts, and boats for rental. (Surreys are a lot of fun, expecially with all the drops in the road :animwink:)

Checking in tomorrow for the 3rd time in 3 years. We love this resort and would never stay at another moderate (unless some crazy deal drags us away). We especially enjoy the landscaping. It has a very relaxing feel to it. Boatwright's, IMO, is one of Disney's best kept secrets as far as restaurants go. The boat to DTD is wonderful, and as another poster mentioned, hop in the POFQ line to get to PORS faster. Plus, you could also consider that resort hopping. You can't go wrong with RS.
