Rivers of Light: We are one malfunctions?

Monday night during the second showing of Rivers of Light the show stopped about a quarter of the way in. There was no rain/thunder/lightning in the area. The floats weren’t out yet either, it just seemed like nothing was wrong until it suddenly stopped and they said it was delayed. It was a bit foggy but I’m not sure that was the reason. After this happened I used my Expedition Everest FP and going up the hill I saw the show already restarted again. Does anyone know the reasons these things can happen seemingly out of nowhere?

Technology is not foolproof. It could be that playback of the master deck went belly up. It could be that the time code syncing everything together failed. There are umpteen things that could go wrong.

Yeaahhh.. soon after posting I realized this was an unnecessary thread in reality because yes you’re right, it’s technology. It fails.

My wife went on a backstage tour with her office a few weeks. It took them around all the parks and talked about well, backstage stuff. LOL Anyway, she was told that the Rivers of light show uses lasers that occasionally interfere with air traffic operations depending on runway in use, etc. and the show has to be temporarily shut down for safety reasons. It apparently doesn't happen often.

The individual lasers would be shut down on the fly. It wouldn’t bring down the show.

Epcot has the same issue.
