I remember when iwas younger and i used to go to River Country when i was younger an i was disgusted by the way disney treats that area of land now. so i was just thinking is there any chance of bulinding something in that location, or at least clear it up and open it for Fort Wilderness Guests only. At least that way the land wouldn't be wasted.

I have also heard the rumour about a pirate themed water park, but i dont know if it worked be put in the same place as where River Country used to be! I thought it would be built in a new area possible near Wide World Of Sports! :king:

River country needes to be demolished. It currently looks like a ghost town water park. There is no reason to rebuild anything in it's place unless you would want to build a fishing area. that could go with the themeing of fort wilderness.

Disney wastes alot of space. Case in point, the old Treasure Island/aka Discovery Island, epcots WOL, Portions of MGM....The list goes on. Don't look for anything to happen to the RC area anytime in the future.

River Counrty will probably never see anything major due to the fact thats its not ADA. In order to be ADA compliant its parking lot would have to be where Tri-Circle D ranch is now. Bacteria in the water or whatever other rumors are pretty much false. No access to the handicapped means no dice at disney. The same with the Treehouse Villas -- they are now a preserve, and they were also not ADA compliant -- with there staircases and no elevators.

I wish they and discovery island were still open. I travel past them often on the disney watercraft.

have a magical day.

well the ADA compliant alot of the time doesnt have anything to do with older buildings and structures since they were built before the ADA bill passed... as for treehouse villa jim hill media had a question posted just this week and they said disney is in the process of cleaning them up and getting permits to fix them and make them part of SSR in the future.

I don't Know the state of the pools today but not to long ago when me and my family would visit Wilderness Campground the pools where very "Unexciting" So I think they should take out some of the stuff and turn it into a cmp willderness only pool.

Thank you!

The empty pools look kinda icky, but I imagine that is to be expected.

I agree, Disney does like to waste space. I wonder if un-used portions of land are a tax write-off like it is for farmers in some states :p

Well it looks like disney keeps good care of the paths until you get to the pools:hurl: (that's what it looked like from the pictures)- they need to do something with that! i mean it's just eew
