I have a June trip planned for five days with the family. My two sons are really excited about ROTR, but I have been reading articles saying that boarding groups are gone within 90 seconds and that folks that are there at rope drop are not getting a boarding group. Are these articles accurate and do any insiders know if this will be improved by the time June rolls around?

Totally true. Been @ Disneyland a couple of weeks ago and BGs ran out in seconds. Touched the "get boarding group" in the first seconds of park opening and had boarding #57.

We were there March 4 and touched for boarding group on MDE right at 8 a.m. We were given BG #114. All groups after # 65 were "standby". At 2 pm we got a message that we would board between 4-5 pm. My advice is to take the standby number and you'll probably have a very good chance of being called. Of course, there may or may not be boarding groups assigned once Disney reopens. Take what they give you. It is TOTALLY worth the experience!
