Oy! :dazzle:
Kids! How dare they live their lives?!
How dare they grow up!!!

DD was looking for different jobs while she was home. She's not totally enchanted with teaching right now. So she applied for some jobs all over the country. I'm hoping she gets the Boston one.....

Really?
Stacey left her teaching job, too. It became too hard to remain emotionally detached. She was drained. So she took a job as assistant to the director of an Education Alliance that works with two Charter schools in the poorest section of the city. They run programs to keep kids off the street and interested in school. She loves it! The neighborhood is really bad, though.

DD student taught in a very poor rural area where the kids really appreciated her. The school she is at right now is a very wealthy community, a huge school, and she puts in very long hours (as most first year teachers do). Her kids have absolutely no appreciation though and do not want to have to do any work themselves. She's really getting frustrated with it, and figures that maybe she'll either go back to Maine eventually or use her degree and experience now to do something else.

That's a problem goes across all income levels, unfortunately. I hope she can find something better soon.
