I used to write with my left hand but my mother told me I'd never get in school if I continued used it. Little did I know it was a lie . But I can write with both hands, nice and neat with my right but a bit choppy with my left. As for everything else, forks, spoons, chopsticks, and sports...I'm a lefty.

I'm right-handed at everything except hockey. When I was a very little kid, my parents got me my first hockey stick for Christmas and didn't realize it was curved for a lefty. So, that's how I learned to play the game. Other than that, my left hand does little more than keep my watch from falling off my wrist. :D

I know the feeling. My grandmother (dad's side) hit my left hand with a ruler if I tried to use it. Now I can write clearly with my right hand, but it all comes out backwards......:veryconfu

 I have been told that too! I am right handed but I also wear my watch on my right wrist and people always tell me that right handed people wear their watches on their left side and left handed people wear their watches on the right side, but not me, I`m right handed and I wear my watch on my right side! :D

Doesn´t it bother you when you write? I know that when I am wearing bracelets on my right and have to write something, I need to take them off or they make writing very uncomfortable.

I am the smartest and most talented in my family,so you know I am left handed baby.
I really hate it when someone sees me writing with my left hand and they say.OH YOUR LEFT HANDED or I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE LEFT HANDED.
Like it's some kind of curse or something.

I am ambidextrous.

I can write draw/paint/sculpt with either hand. My handwriting is better with my left hand and I exclusively write with my left unless I am "showing off". When I draw I start with my left hand until it gets tired and then move to my right. (I have more control with the left for extremly fine detail). When I paint, either hand will suffice.

Some things I do exclusively with one or the other hand though, when I hammer I use the left hand, scissors always use the right. Power tools, left usually, and I catch and throw with my right hand.

Batting I switch hit. Archery I use either hand, shooting a rifle or pistol I use my left.

Here is something I have discovered about left handers that few right handers can do, in fact many left handers think they cannot do it until they actually try -- I discovered it in high school when kids were curious about ambidexterity and I would show them how I could draw or write with either hand. I would take a pen or pencil in both hands and write simultaneously with both hands -- usually my name or something like that, sometimes a drawing... the thing is, for this demonstration I would write one of the items normally and the copy that was being done simultaneously would be a mirror image of the other.

Of course, the other kids would try it for themselves after my encouragement, and almost ALWAYS, anyone who was left handed could do it, usually shocking the heck out of themselves and the right handers could not. Every once in a while, a righty could do it and once, the righty told me that he was actually left handed and forced to change to right handedness in school (I had no idea people STILL did that in the 70's).

Try it :) You will probably amaze yourself if you are a lefty (and your friends).

p.s. I wear my watch on my right wrist because when I used to wear it on my left it would get beaten all to heck because I do more with my left hand than right.

I normally use my right hand for most tasks. When I pick my nose I prefer to use the fingers and thumb on my left hand. I always seem to get better results that way!

Arggh. I hate that. You can tell how the difference between lefties and righties I think. I think its in the way we walk. Don't ask. I can do things with my right hand but I use my left hand mostly. I can write with my left hand with a cast on. I also could write with my right hand. Its big and messy but legiable.

I think I'm the only one in my big family that is a lefty.
