Rides that close when it rains

Most things stay open in the rain. I don't think the canoes would run. They might shut down the Incredible coaster. Definitely Radiator Spring Racers would go down. Most of Disneyland would still be up since most things are inside. It's the best time to visit the park. No crowds. No fireworks or Fantasmic that night.

Splash Mountain doesn't do well in the rain, the water decreases the friction on the logs... causes them to hydroplane into the Rivers of America after the drop. They typically won't run it if it's at all overcast, since the risk is so great.

DL is definitely the best of the two rain or shine. Alice has to close due to the outdoor section, but aside from that it’s mostly business as normal.

Having been to the resort recently on a rainy and crowded Saturday, I can tell you both parks are still great fun in the rain. Incredicoaster can run in the rain, but—as with any fast coaster in the rain—it doesn’t feel great on the ol’ eyeballs. :D

At Disneyland, only the two Alice rides will always be closed when it rains. At DCA, Racers will close during down pours and Zephyr will probably close. Heavier winds and rain could cause other closures. I think Tom Sawyer Island tends to close because it’s prone to flooding.

RSR was running in the rain in February. It wasn't heavy, but definitely steady. Luigi's was closed though, and Lightning McQueen can't do meet and greets.

Certain Disneyland attractions will always close in rain:
  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Mad Tea Party
  • Gadget's Go Coaster
  • Rafts to Pirate's Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
  • Sailing Ship Columbia
  • Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes
  • Tarzan's Treehouse
Some attractions will be affected by the rain, but may remain open:
  • The Texas (top) deck of the Mark Twain Riverboat will close, but the rest of the boat should still operate
  • Certain tracks of the Autopia may close
  • The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh may close depending on the duration/severity of the rain
  • Some Main Street vehicles will not operate in the rain.
All other attractions should continue to operate. I don't know which DCA attractions close for rain off the top of my head, but Incredicoaster does continue to operate. Radiator Springs Racers doesn't typically fare well in the rain, as we've seen from years past.

As for entertainment:
  • Fireworks can be launched in the rain provided that they were able to be loaded earlier in the day in dry conditions; so if it rains literally all day, don't count on fireworks, but if the rain starts shortly before showtime, it should be fine. With Mickey's Mix Magic, the projection and lighting elements of the show will still run even if the pyrotechnic portions have to be cut.
  • Fantasmic! does not perform in the rain due to performer safety. A light mist might allow the show to run with altered choreography, but anything heavier will cancel the performance.
  • World of Color performs in most weather conditions, except for high winds.
  • Parades generally don't run in the rain for performer safety. Sometimes parades may start earlier than the advertised showtime in an effort to "beat" the rain. Parades can also be run with modified choreography. If the Disneyland parade is canceled, a "Rainy Day Cavalcade" will run instead, where characters board Main Street vehicles which travel the parade route.
  • Most outdoor atmosphere entertainment is canceled for rain.

mad tea party closes when it rains cause if it ran in the rain the spinning teacups would create so much static energy that it'd result in a hurricane that would wipe out the entire west coast in 10 minutes flat
