Rides (Night vs Day)

Which of the following rides at Magic Kingdom are better to ride at night and which ones are better during the daytime? I'm sure on some, it doesn't matter.

Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
Stitch’s Great Escape
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Jungle Cruise
Peter Pan’s Flight

many of those are inside anyway so it probably wouldn't make a difference...the only suggestion i have is to ride splash mountain and big thunder mountain during the day and at nite if you have the opportunity...have fun!

Of those listed, I think Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain are better at night. I refer Space at night because the eyes are better adjusted to the darkness and you can see more detail. Big Thunder because it feels a little more out of control.

Tower of Terror is quite good at night also

 On EMH mornings for resort guests, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are open early, and Space Mountain and Peter Pan are great to do then. And if you're at the ropes in Frontierland at a little before 9 (when the rest of the park opens), you can get Splash and Thunder done right away. The Jungle Cruise is of course better during the day so you can see everything, as well as Thunder Mt.

Space and Splash, it doesn't really matter - Splash is cool at night because you can see the whole kingdom lit up. Haunted Mansion doesn't matter at all, because the entire thing is indoors - that being said, going at night is always just a little bit spookier :~)

In my book any of the Indoor rides are much better at night. As your eyes are already used to being in low-light so you can see much more while on the rides.

Big Thunder & Jungle I like in the daylight but are very cool at night.

I've ridden Splash around dusk, and it is pretty neat seeing the whole kingdom light up.

Personally, I think the whole experience of HM is all the better at night. If I had to pick one ride to go on after dark, HM would be it...hands down.

You would be really surprised.

In the Haunted Mansion Grave Yard scene you can clearly see all the back drops and the back wall of the scene.

In Space Mountain you can see the entire track without much problem. Which also makes it less scary if you have a nervous first time rider.

I think Big Thunder at night is a totally different experience. Much, much better on all accounts!

It's so different, and lots of fun lighting and things to see.

I would have to agree with the others that have said that most of the rides are different experiences at night. I'm not sure about the dark eyes thing, I'm not saying I don't believe it, just that I have never noticed it myself. I think it maybe has something to do with the different atmosphere the park has after dark.

It is great coming out of the top of Splash Mountain at night and seeing all the lights across the park.

I think rides are better at night for a couple reasons...

It's cooler at night so if you're waiting in line you're not taking a shower in your Poland Spring water bottle.

Also I think it just is a different feeling. When I go to Haunted Mansion at night I'm the biggest scaredy cat. It's really shameful...lolol. And I've been on Splash at night, but since I'm a chicken, I never open my eyes at the top of the drop. But my dad says it's pretty...at least thats what I manage to hear when I'm buried in his shoulder. Also Big Thunder is pretty at night too.

Nighttime wins hands down! = ). Hope I was helpful..

How can they be different? They are indoors!

But I like rides better at night like BTMRR.

Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain are a lot of fun at night! Especially Thunder Mountain. It's soo pretty! i think the Jungle Cruise is fun too because its soo dark...but its hard to see everything, so you would probably want to ride it both during the day and night.

Space Mountain - Doesn't matter - totally indoors

Splash Mountain - Good to cool off during the day, I like it at night too because it feels really creepy for some reason

Stitch’s Great Escape - Bad during the day, bad at night LOL (j/k) - indoors, doesn't matter

Haunted Mansion - scarier at night IMO

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - more intense at night, feels faster

Jungle Cruise - Better during the day I think

Peter Pan’s Flight - Doesn't matter, indoors

Big Thunder is my all-time favorite night ride. If you sit in the front, you cannot tell where you are going; it's like Space Mountain times 5.

When I rode Splash Mountain at night, we were able to see some of SpectroMagic right at the flying horses. In the darkness and being so far away, it looked like the horses were actually flying. That is one of the most magical moments I have experienced in WDW.

even though it's inside, Space Mountain at night has a whole new feel, I can't describe it but man it's awesome. Splash at night is just freaky especially when you're outside and the music is playing and it's pitch black and you can't even see the final drop which makes it even crazier I think and perhaps a little better ;)

Space Mountain-- No difference-- early in morning or close to closing for a minimum wait time
Splash Mountain-- It's great to experience both
Stitch’s Great Escape-- No difference
Haunted Mansion-- Night.. seems spookier when entering and exiting
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad-- Day
Jungle Cruise-- Night.. deff. Night!
Peter Pan’s Flight-- Both... Seems more realistic when entering & exiting the ride

Agreed. I had no idea there were lighting effects and people inside the building until I went at night.

I love BTM at night.
