Ride References Thread...SPOILER

Is there a thread that lists ALL of the ride references in POTC and/or HM? I thought would be cool to have a list of all the ride references that people have caught, but without ruining the surprise for anyone who hasn't seen the films yet. I thought as long as we put "SPOILER" in the thread title, then people could read at their own risk.

I'm certain I did not catch all of the ride references myself, but here's what I recall about each of the two films:

Pirates:
-Dog with jail cell key in his mouth.
-Girl singing "A Pirate's Life for Me" at the beginning of the film.
-Pirate drinking wine while turning into a skeleton.

That's all I recall from this film, so I'm sure there are more. I'm sure I'll catch others when I buy the dvd on Tuesday (by the way, I'm buying it just in time to watch it on the plane on the way to Orlando!)

Haunted Mansion:
-Ballroom dancers
-Singing busts
-Changing pictures
-Busts that follow you
-Madame Leota
-Hitchhiking ghosts
-Master Gracey hanging from ceiling
-"Breathing" door
-Self knocking door knockers
-Ghosts on seesaw in graveyard
-Leota's speech after end credits
-Crow

Here's a few more for HM:

--The whole presence of spiders throughout the movie...especially the crypt scene (kind of explains all the spiders throughout the ride...nice touch).
--The musical instruments in the first Leota scene
--The Piano/Greenhouse
--Graveyard behind the house (depicts the transition within the ride)
--Dead horse/carraige (references the carrraige infront of HM ride at WDW and DL).

I'm sure there are more.....I was dissapointed there was no reference to the stretching room....

As for pirates...I don't remember the movie much.....

Let's see, for POTC, there's more:

Guy sleeping with the pigs
The red head
the phrase "dead men tell no tales"
a cave full of treasure ( DL's version )
the cursed treasure story ( DL's version )
talking parrot
the phrase "keep a weary eye out mate"
the phrase "Ya Bloomin Cockroachers"

I think that covers almost all of them.

I've not seen HM and seen Pirates only once, but I remember the skeleton on the ground with a cutlass in it's back and a crab in front of it. That is out of the WDW ride.

In PotC there's also the man sitting on the bridge with the dirty feet, if I remember correctly, I'll have to make sure that's right when I buy the DVD Tuesday! :sohappy:

In HM I also noticed the man with the dog in the graveyard scene.

You also have the woman from the ride that goes "don't tell him Carlos! AHHHHHHH!" in the movie. Sue is only there for a second, but she's running through one of the towns. I think Port Royale.

there are some other, more oblique refrences to the attraction in Haunted Mansion -- check out the lock on the gates to the house, almost every ghost in the graveyard.

one of the singing busts is Thurl Ravenscroft.

Wallace Shawn's costume in the wedding scene strongly resembles both the one worn by the organist in the ballroom as well as the infamous, hastily removed "hatbox ghost" - which is only solidified when the maid "helper ghost" shows up with a hatbox at the end and hands it to him.

it's pretty obvious to me that there was some serious drama all during the making of this film, because it overall seems to lack a sense of direction. it's a shame we probably won't get to see anything as interesting on the DVD, at least not from Disney - just some EPK "gosh, this movie sure was fun" stuff and hopefully a lively commentary.

I hope they include a MASSIVE amount of deleted scenes on the DVD, so we can try to peice it back together.

The License Plate that the Evers have in the movie is from Louisiana. They even zoom in on this to show the Disney Fans that this mansion is in New Orleans Square (just like in Disneyland).
