Ride malfunction trend??

I've been on rides when they stopped briefly at WDW, but never evacuated. On the other hand, I've evacuated off 3 different rides at Universal - Cat in the Hat, The Mummy, & Jurasic River Adventure. (The River Adventure one really sucked. We were stuck in the boat right before the drop for 45 minutes. They finally got us off of it & we had a 5-6 flights of stairs to climb down.)

I also got stuck at Cat in the Hat. I was so looking forward to riding too since Dr. Seuss land was so cute . We waited for a bit and saw people jumping the line to get out so we just followed. We had free tickets with our hotel room rate and were only there to see Harry Potter, so it was not that big of a deal. HP broke down multiple times while waiting in line and we ended up waiting 1.5 hours, but it was an awesome queue and well worth it in the end. Amazingly enough, Cat in the Hat was still broken hours later.

The Unofficial Guide has the following chart:

Attractions Breakdown Frequency
Space Mountain* Every other Day
Splash Mountain* Every other Day
Pirates of the Caribbean 3 days per week
Test Track* 3 days per week
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 2 days per week
Expedition Everest 2 days per week
Rock N Roller Coaster* 2 days per week
Haunted Mansion 1 day per week
Jungle Cruise 1 day per week
Adventures of Winnie the Pooh 1 day per week
Toy Story Mania 1 day per week
Tower of Terror 1 day per week

*Indicates that the attraction is likely to break down more than once per day

So, it looks like this is nothing new.

The worst I've gotten is rides stopping for 5-10 minutes. I assume they just stopped the rid to let on someone in a wheelchair. Or maybe someone stood up or messed with the safety bar.
Although the last time I saw the Little Mermaid show, Ariel's transformation at the end didn't work properly and we ended up just hearing the final scene while looking at a curtain XD

I've never had a ride full on break down on me but I've had Haunted Mansion stop several times (most likely for handicapped boarding). I've noticed POTC seems to go down a lot, but the ride system is very old so it makes sense. I don't understand why some of the newer rides experience difficulties a lot since their technology is pretty new compared to the older rides.
