 People from all over the world visit Walt Disney World, many of them from Latin America and even Spain. Not all of them will speak or understand English and you can't expect them to learn perfect English on their vacation. Also, the United States of America doesn't have an official language yet. Link

I never realized this.

Wow, wouldn't alot of people be in a world of hurt if all of a sudden the government made Spanish the official language of the U.S.A.

This was really more of a joke toward the "National Language" issue than specifically WDW. I understand that WDW is a "melting pot" of tourists, and I can respect that there. However, I do not respect it when I have to listen to a Spanish recording on every Tech Support call I make, or that I have to read a English-Spanish menu at McDonalds, or that every single place I go has a Spanish sign. I'm ALL FOR the US adopting a National Language of English.

Yes, our president would be in a bit of a bind.

I do live in Europe, Spain to be exact, and not by choice, military. So I am on the complete opposite side that you are speaking of, the learning the language part. You are right, alot of Europeans do speak english but when asked if they do, they say no. Not sure if they don't want to because we are Americans or because they don't think their pronunciation is good enough. So now i feel their pain when they visit the US. It sure is nice to see something in english these days.

Spanish

It only says the same warning phrase told in english, translated to spanish. The thing is that I think this is meant for South America, Central America, Spain people who do not usually speak english.

I understand Disney being a melting pot and I dont have a problem with that. I have a problem where Illegals come into the country and never learn a lick of English and we have to subsidize everything they need to survive. Including Documentation in Spanish. I mean you can take the U.S. Citizenship exam in Spanish. that is messed up.

now you know

remaining seated and keeping your hands, arms, feet, & legs inside the vehichle at all times = Permanezca sentado, con sus manos, brazos, pies y piernas dentro del vehiculo en todo momento.
Please stand clear of the doors = Por favor mantengase alejado de las puertas.

And for the one who said that the people in south & central america doesn't speak english, i think you're wrong, in fact i am 13 years old and i speak english...

You know what was annoying ??? Watching the Wishes Paris version and having them say the words in French and English it really made it sound jumbled. They need one or the other.

Haha, I didn't know so many people were interested in Spanish language ride announcements.

Just for some background, on my last trip this summer, my 2 friends and I were always waiting in line in opressive heat and after a while some of the announcements became etched in our minds. So insted of yelling on Space Mountain and such one of us blurted out the entire speil in Spanish for i think it was Dinosaur. So needless to say... we all now want to know what the entire thing is in Spanish (i have no problem translating it, gives me a chance to use my few years of high school Spanish).
