Has anybody done the Ride-A-Long? I've heard good things about the more costly experiences. I haven't heard a word about the basic "ride-a-long". I'm thinking of surprising my husband. He's not "into" race cars, just your basic thrill rides. I'm trying to restore the disney magic; he seems to have lost his. The "ride-a'long is about $89 ($69 with AP). Please share your experiences.

Give me $40 and I will give your Husband a "ride-a'long" on the Kennedy Expressway at night... Or... Lake shore Drive.. either way... we'll hit 140mph at some point or another. :lookaroun ;)

I paid the $89 to do the ride-along, but a storm came up and knocked out all electricity to the park including the WDW Speedway. I had to get a refund in the mail and was really sad about not getting to ride. I have heard lots of great things about this, too. The last time we were there a group of around 5 people did it and were so thrilled and happy when it was over. So, I would buy it if it were me.

My husband is a race fan and did the ride-along and loved it. I personally thought that it was really quick, but he didn't think so. And of course we had to buy the photo too!

My dad did the Rookie experience at Lowes Motor Speedway (Charlotte, NC) and loved it. We have been there 3 times. The first time we got rained out but the second time we didn't. I did the ride along there for $99. 165 mph for 3 laps. LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN!!! I've done that twice now. Next time I do it, It will be at Daytona, Richmond, Walt Disney World Speedway or Charlotte again. Lowes has a pretty high banking as Disney doesn't so I'm sure it will be a totally different but extremely fun experience. I recommend doing the Richard Petty driving school. I'm sure your husband would enjoy it.

I did it last month for the first time--it is a lot of fun, but don't blink or it will be over! The acceleration at the start is the best part, I felt :)

After having lived in Charlotte for 10 years, I had gotten the opportunity with my Brother-in-Law to do the ride-along with Fast Track. If you're a Nascar fan, you'll love it. If you're not a big fan of it, I wouldn't recommend it. Not because you wouldn't like it per se, but because of the cost/time ratio. It's over with in just a couple of minutes. And afterward, if you're not a big fan, it will seem like you overpaid.

I did the Rookie experience at WDW and all I can say is it is well worth the amount payed! In fact a group of us are planning an assult on Homested Miami speedway Rookie in the next few months. As far as the ride along everyone that I saw getting out of the cars had a smile that lasted the whole time I was there!
