RFID Mugs + Coke Freestyle = Worst ever!

I love the Coke freestyle machines. (Mix of orange coke & Vanilla Coke is my go to). However I can totally see where the rfid chip cups would be a nightmare with the freestyle machines.

Universal have RFID chips on their Freestyle refill mugs and they aren't a nightmare, maybe the settings allow for more than a full mug on each pour or something but I never had an issue.

Stayed at WL in August and Roaring Forks had regular cups out so guest could bypass the RFID crap. So you just grabbed a regular cup and you could get as much as you wanted. Dump it in your mug and on your way. I wasted a lot of soda. They made it a point to show everybody that was getting frustrated by the machines.

I saw that the regular cups had RFID chips on the bottom so assumed they needed to go to the till first to be activated?

I'm thinking maybe the settings are a little different. I don't use the rfid machines all that much, but when I was at Corando Springs 2 months ago, I have to admit the sofa machines seemed to be forgiving. I tend to load up on ice as that's my preference. When my cup was filled, the machine seemed to want me to have more sofa. That being said, I understand that's not normal.

The first time we ever used a Freestyle Machine was about 5-6 years ago at the AMC in Downtown Disney. We thought it was pretty cool then and now it seems like everybody is getting them. We like the variety and its hard to get Coke with lime anywhere else. Although I can see where the RFID chip, if not set with proper time limits, might be an issue.

On a side note, Pepsi is currently putting theirs in the market, its called the Pepsi Spire. Our local theater runs the Spire on one counter and the traditional machine on the another. Best of both worlds I guess.

Well you're old....so....;)
I was getting napkins and straws last night at the movies, asked T to fill my cup up with Sprite 0. Went to put the lid on and noticed it was orange. He said "Mommy I gave you Peach Sprite 0!". Ugh..we were late so I kept it. It wasn't good, but it wasn't as horrible as I thought it would be.

Contamination shouldn't be an issue because it just mixes right at the dispenser. They don't taste the same because it doesn't use the same syrup system traditional fountains use. They use some micro dispensing tech in the dispenser head.

Just running water would be the same "flush" as using other tastes.

I don't like them simply because the coke tastes aweful
