Has anyone here seen the 1985 Disney bomb, Return to Oz?? It's a dark continuation of what happens to Dorthy after she get's home from her original trip. Although it bombed, it's always been a movie that I've loved. I was also wondering if anyone here has heard anything about the dvd release in February 2004. Unlike the dvd that is out now, released by Anchor Bay, this dvd is being brought out by Disney.

Yes I saw it. It is much truer to the Baum books; the characters look more like the original illustrations, and many charcters are included from the original stories.

I remember my daughter getting spooked by the scene with the closet full of heads.

I did not see it in the theaters, but watched about half of it when it came to Disney Channel. I got bored with it about half way through and turned it off. Just couldn't get into it.

Wow, this one has much more action in it too.

The wheelers always creeped me out when I was little.

Is it out on DVD yet?
A company called "Anchor Bay" has realeased it on DVD. There aren't really any features on it. Disney, though, is releasing the DVD in February. Hopefully it will have more features than the one already released!

Wasn't the book Wizard of Oz, a satire of society when the person wrote it....each thing in the story symbolizes an aspect of society or something like that....I would imagine if they remade the Wizard of Oz it would be much darker than it was back in the day......

I don't remember seeing return to oz....maybe I'll rent it....

i thought it would always be a silliy pun to be called buscuit_munster... but... i just chose cookiee :) we do have cookie's in england though, but their terribly addictive and i would just eat every single one (cant miss the film) if i had a cup of tea in one hand and about 10million cookie's in the other :) because cookie's are just lovely jubly!
