Return of a Disneyland in either Germany, Brazil or Singapore (open brainstorming)

In the past, there have been - and there continues to be - several threads on creating new Disney parks in other parts of the world. I'm guilty of as much myself. There have been threads on new parks in places like Germany, Australia, Brazil and Singapore.

I think we should revive a thread like that. In this case, I can't decide where to put it, so I'm just going to create one to go anywhere, in places I've been involved with before: in either Germany or Brazil or Singapore. One of those three.

What do you think?

For a concept I had in Australia, most of the lands were completely different in the Disneyland-style park. Here is the list for those lands.
  • Hollywood Boulevard (in place of Main Street USA)
  • Grizzly Peak (in place of Frontierland, themed to the Canadian wilderness)
  • Harambe Village (in place of Adventureland)
  • Caribbean Square (in place of Liberty Square)
  • Mickey's Enchanted Forest (in place of Fantasyland)
  • Discovery Bay (in place of Tomorrowland)

I've always thought that South America was a prime spot for a future Disney park, so I'd vote for Brazil.

It's not only about the weather and if there is already a park there, it's also about the profit expectations. In Brazil there a still not enough economic resources. The majority of the Brazilian people still live in poverty and could not afford a trip to a Disney park. The small middle class and even smaller upper class already does so in Florida and would be not enough to bring in the profit in a Brazilian park. Especially considering the fact that Brazil is one of the WEALTHIER nations in South America. Poor countries like Bolivia, Columbia, Peru, Equador, Paraguay, Argentina, with their even smaller middle and upper class will never be efficient sources for enough tourists to visit the park to make it gaining a profit.
I don't see any Disney park in South America in the next 20 to 30 years.

Singapore btw. doesn't make any sense at all as HKDL is quite near to that location and a city state would never be large enough to bring in the crowds necessary (and the surrounding countries, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia are again still too poor)

I agree with all of the above. If there would be another park built after Shanghai, I really don't know where it would be. Australia's population is quite small; even though I'm sure a Disneyland-style park would be wildly popular there, I don't know if there would be enough guests through the turnstiles to make it profitable enough. In terms of population, the correct move would be somewhere in the Middle East (I know, I know, stay with me though). Since the United Arab Emirates has seemingly fumbled the ball with the Dubailand project, they are moving to a completely tourist-based economy, and the U.A.E. is fairly Western-friendly and [somewhat more] progressive than its neighbors, that would be a good spot to put another Disney park.

Actually, the main factor for me is not population or even economy, but rather something that others might think is relatively trivial by comparison: release dates of Disney movies (mainly animated) in those countries. To show you what I mean, here is a list of the first five animated features released in France and Japan, both of which have Disney parks in those countries:

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS (1937)
--May 4, 1938 (France)
--September 26, 1950 (Japan)

PINOCCHIO (1940)
--May 22, 1946 (France)
--May 17, 1952 (Japan)

FANTASIA (1940)
--November 1, 1946 (France)
--September 23, 1955 (Japan)

DUMBO (1941)
--October 25, 1947 (France)
--March 12, 1954 (Japan)

BAMBI (1942)
--July 15, 1947 (France)
--May 26, 1951 (Japan)

So, you get the idea now? International release dates, to me, are a big factor in deciding on a park location.

Australia's population is only a little more than half of the population of the Tokyo-Yokohama metropolitan area, 22 Mio. compared to more than 35 Mio. In Germany alone we have about 80 Mio. people. And although it is quite a popular tourist destination, not many Americans or Europeans go there because it is a LONG flight and it is expensive. Tourists from Asia however are not enough to bring the masses for a Disney Park, especially not with the two major visitor groups, China and Japan, having their own parks which are even far superior (especially TDL and TDS) ,to anything Disney could build in Australia on a much smaller financial basis. No I am quite sure there will be no Disney Park in Australia ever, or at least in the next 30 years.

U.A.E would make more sense financially, however there is a difference between DL/WDW weather and the UAE. It would be a hard time walking around a Disney park there in temperatures in the 110 degrees and more, during summer season. And there is no guarantee that the present regime will always be there, especially after the number of revolutions in the Arabian world, there is even the threat of islamistic revolutions in the future and ALL money invested would be lost.

It's not easy to place another Disney park with Shanghai being greenlighted. A second park in China made sense but it is difficult to find another location worldwide that could be a success.
All of Africa is far too poor and far too unstable, even South Africa, were a future civil war is still a possibility and the crime rate is insane. Same with South America, more stable but too poor, I already said why even a Brazilian park would be a huge risk (although it would keep us the Brazilian tour groups away, definitely a big plus!) Europe has Disneyland Paris and a second park would be too near to the already existing one as Europe is quite small. Russia would be far too cold and still far too poor, although there is a growing middle class and you need the middle class to make a Disney park a success, you cannot run it with upper class and millionaires. In Asia only India could be a possibility in a distant future however.
Actually I don't think there is the potential for another Disneyland style park anywhere in the entire world, not even in the US with tow parks existing. If Disney would build some different kind of theme park (like Disneys America) however that would be a complete new story.

First of all, at the rate the prices are constantly being raised for WDW in particular, only millionaires and upper class may actually be able to afford that one!

Second of all, I think a third US park is really kinda dumb. Anyway, what would you do about the Disney(land)-type parks?
