I'm not sure how true this, but I was hearing at work that Walt Disney World will begin using “The Vacation Kingdom of the World” moniker once again, along with more emphasis on “The Happiest Place on Earth” for Disneyland. Someone had said they'd seen something in the news about it, with prototype brochure designs shown. “Where Dreams Come True” will stay, but more just used on the side. Apparently, Bob Iger said he thinks nostalgia is 'in'. Once again, I don't know how true this is, but I think that'd be pretty cool if it is.

Interesting, we shall see what happens. There has been increasing popularity in nostalgia lately, espically in merchandice. Time will tell.

Hmmm.....maybe the "Year of a Million Dreams" campaign isn't working so well after all.

I'd love for this to be true. If Iger really does think Nostalgia is in maybe we'll start to see Disney get back to its former standards. And maybe just maybe he'll realize that an Epcot celebration is a great way to do nostalgia.

Just as an aside, Walt believed nostalgia was in as well, hence the wonderful main street.

With Iger's nostalgia statement and the new EPCOT Center shirts, I wonder if an announcement of an official Epcot 25th celebration is imminent.

Seriously doubtful. We probably have seen the extent of the merchandise and announcements from the company. I hope this isn't true, but from what I have seen this is most likely the case.

Budgets are tight as-is. For once and for all, there will be no celebration for Epcot's 25th. The VP in charge of Epcot has said this (Brad Rex), so it's official. End of story.

This could be like a presidential candidate. "No, I'm not runnning"... "No, I'm not running"... "I would hereby like to announce my nomination for President of the United States." Could be like that... possibly...

:( I like "The Happiest Place on Earth"

If you want you can call Walt Disney World “Where the Most Magical Vacation Place on Earth Dreams of the World Comes True Lives,” but not “The Happiest Place on Earth.” Disneyland is certifiably 18.7 percent happier than we are.

It's the heat and humidity - I was struck by how nice the cool breeze felt in DL on summer days.

I heard WDW was 11.2% happier this quarter.

There have been other quarters where WDW registered higher on the happy-o-meter, but in general DL wins. However, WDW has averaged 6.3% higher on the magic-o-meter since its (the magic-o-meter's) inception in 1984.
