Ok, so we are 5 days into our first WDW trip (still got 11 days left) and loving it!!! The only complaint is the restaurants, everything feels so rushed. So far we've eaten at Sci-Fi, San Angel Inn, Paradiso 37 (then B.o.G tonight at 9:05pm). While the food has been very good, its disappointing that they want you in and out as quick as possible. Starters come straight away, entree come while eating the starters then as soon as I finish my plate gets taken away while my partner is still eating. Is there any restaurant where you can sit down for a couple of hours and enjoy the experience instead of just straight in and out?

Most people at theme parks don't want to spend two hours eating a meal considering all there is to do and their limited time available to try to accomplish as much as possible.

It might just be us Europeans ..... or the time of year.

As others have posted, we have never felt rushed at any Disney restaurant, but, also, as others have posted, we've never been there this time of year.
Also, one of the partners at the firm I work for visited Europe (mostly England, some France) during our spring break a few weeks ago. They definitely noticed the difference (which I've heard many times over the years) in the more relaxed and laid back dining across the pond. :)

If you want to spend several hours taking up a table for which others are waiting, that's up to you. I've never been asked to leave a table and while you may feel rushed it's unlikely they will ask you to leave. Personally as someone else said, is this best us of your time? If yes, hopefully, you will at least order dessert and coffee to take up that time so you're not sitting at an empty table, then leave a generous tip for the server whom you've probably cost at least one more customer.

With the exception of 'Ohana dinner and the various character meals, it's typically the resort restaurants where we've been made to feel like time is no issue. In fact, we finished up dessert on our last visit to Cali Grill around 9:40pm and our server told us to stay put for Wishes.

You're likely feeling the difference between the US way and the European way of dealing with the bill. In the US they will automatically give you the bill after they have asked if you want anything else, but that doesn't mean you have to pay immediately and leave. In most European countries, they only give it to you when you have asked for it, which of course means sometimes waiting quite awhile before you can flag down the waitstaff in order to pay.

Try Shula's in the Dolphin. We have never felt rushed there. Also, we like Chef's de France. Although, Chef's de France they may rush you this week.

Like you, we also enjoy taking our time dining. (When without the kids)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip!

Quick update- We went to Be our guest last night and that was amazing! Just what we wanted, we had time to enjoy our time in the restaurant. We was in for around one hour and a half (starter, main, dessert) and the waiter made us feel 'special'........ As someone said, I'm not wanting to take up a table that other people are waiting for. But when we booked a lot of the restaurants 180 days in advance and spending a lot on food, we just want to enjoy the experience (Its part of the holiday for us). I dont want to be in and out in 30min on a $120+ Bill.

Thanks for the recommendations guys!

You are in the middle of spring break for the US- I would imagine Disney is trying to be as efficient as possible, and while not trying to rush you out- they are booked to capacity and have to keep those reservations somewhat on time... We Americans do tend to move in and out relatively quickly, but you should never feel rushed. That being said- I have felt rushed when Cinderella's Royal Table was so hard to get, and they seemed in a hurry to get us out for the next group... Hang in there- I bet it will slow down over the next week... And don't let them rush you- it's your vacation!

I've never felt rushed in any restaurant. But two that come to mind that are beautiful with plenty to look at and encourage you to take your time are California Grill and Yak and Yeti.
This ^^^ we have never felt rushed either. I do have to say, Yachtsman Steakhouse is by far, our fav. Having said that, we never felt rushed at all. You failed to mention which park or resort you were looking to dine at, so to make a concise suggestion is a tad hard

I do agree about Chefs de France. No matter how busy the place has ever gotten we've never felt even a bit rushed there.
