I am wondering what restaurants would be good to go to that are outside of WDW. I read somewhere about some pirate dinner show theatre. Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Tim

There are some dinner shows to attend, but I´m not sure which ones are still open... the last time I was there was Dec.'99. However, my favorite restaurant in Orlando was Bahama Breeze, on International Drive. Very good caribbean food, big portions, good music sometimes live, and in general a nice place to hang out for a drink and for dinner. :animwink:

I SECOND THAT! I ate there once and have been wanting to go back ever since. Luckily they just opened one in Chicago, so I won't have to fly to FL to eat there. But if I had a choice of a great restaurant...Bahama Breeze is the place to go.

For a dinner show we've always enjoyed Medievel Times right on the main drag in Kissimmee... I think that's 192... anyhow... we always pay the extra $3 to upgrade to VIP also, so we're sitting right in front. But the seats are good anywhere. It's a great evening!

The Ruby Tuesday's and the Pizza Hut on 192 are also really good. The people who work at the Ruby Tuesday's are really great, and they love to give you a good deal. The Pizza Hut is also really nice, and big! They make some of the best, warmest, gooyest, FASTEST pizza I have ever gotten from a Pizza Hut. Also, P.F. Changs is really good, too, if you like great chinese!

Oh, and about Medieval Times, If you are really looking for food, this is not the place to go. They are very show oriented. Period. You get a bowl of minestrone soup, a chicken leg, two ribs, half a baked potato, and a tiny desert. VERY bad food. VERY good show! (plan on eating more afterwards, you'll be hungry!!!)

I didn´t get to go to Medieval Times, I did go to King Henry´s Feast and I had a great time and a lot of good food, but the place doesn´t exist anymore :(

The one place I do NOT recommend is Capone´s in the Kissimmee area. I had fun, but the idea of having a waiter who keeps being rude to you on purpose was not exactly pleasant. It was a buffet, but the food was cheap italian pasta and other stuff, not too much variety and definitely not the best tasting one! We all got the impression that it was like a bad homemade food. The show was fun though but I would never pay for that again.

um... yeah... it's true, the food isn't wonderful at Medieval Times... but we really enjoyed the show... enough to go 3 different years... I never felt the need to eat again after the show though... (and I wasn't sick from the food... ) :)

I LOVE Medieval Times...It has such a great atmosphere......the food isn't...terrible...but it wasn't the best either...you do go for the show... If your looking for just a nice lunch, I love Johnny Rockets....Its the cutest little 50's diner and the staff dances and it's got the BEST milkshakes...:slurp: It's like it came right out of Happy Days!!! It's at Point Orlando on International Drive.....right next to the HUUUUUUGE FAO store...

Jungle Jims in the Crossroads plaza has great decorations and pretty good food as I recall. It's mostly american stuff (burgers, chicken, etc). Everything is decorated like a jungle, they even put plastic jungle animals as stirrers/decorative things on the side of your glasses.

I know it's not the best restuarant... but i love to eat at Shoney's (if that's how you spell it). anyway, i love the breakfast from there. i think the food is good, and it's a buffet so i don't mind. Now, if you want to go to a nice restuarant with good food, go to Charly's Steak house. that place is really good. i can't wait to go again. oh... and how can i forget..... the Hooter's on i-drive......lol :hammer:

I have to "second" FOSSIL'S comment about SCHONEY'S!!!

We "discovered" this place a couple years ago when we stayed off property. While out for a walk one night,we saw it and went in. They don't have them up here (Buffalo, NY) and the food is nothing "special", but it sure was hot and good! We still talk about going back sometime!

Also, we went to a place called "LANDRY'S" for seafood one night. The lobster and steaks were very good! It's not far from Downtown Disney, and we had a really nice, relaxing, and enjoyable meal there. The servers were great! Look it up!

OH NO! NOT RUBY TUESDAYS!
Ugh, I hated that place, I dunno, maybe it was just a bad night for the people, but seriously, the workers all seemed kind of... high on something :veryconfu
A balloon popped while we were there, and about 5 seconds later, two guys working there turned around in shock, like it just happened :hammer:
Hehe, the food was okay though.

been to johnny rockets and it was the worst food weve ever ate:cry: the show at medievil times is cool but the food wasnt very good and we thought it was pretty pricey:( but for the best steak weve ever had we always try to make it to the cattlemans steakhouse just awesome food but just a normal restaurant atmosphere:slurp:

I thought everyone liked Johnny Rockets... there's always a line when we go... I enjoy seeing the waiters & waitresses dance... the atmosphere is fun... just for a lunch kind of thing, not dinner. Even if the food isn't great, the milkshakes more than make up for it! :)

Golden Corral - not the prettiest place in town, but for $9.99 an all you can eat steak buffet can't be beaten - and oh, those desserts :slurp:
