I will be in Downtown Disney at the Double Tree for 3 nights on a business trip at the end of this month. I will not unfortunately be going to any Disney parks! Bummer!

Anyway, what are some good restauarants to go to? I want to go to Rainforest Cafe 1 night. How about the other 2 nights? BTW, my wife and 13 month boy will be attending as well.

Thanks

For a quick lunch try Earl of Sandwich in the Marketplace. The food is really good and it's reasonably priced. As for dinner, although I've never been there, I've always wanted to try Bongos, it looks really good.

I like to eat at Wolfgang Pucks place. The House of Blues used to be good, it's been a while since I've eaten there though.

Don't waste your time at Planet Hollywood. It's very loud, very crowded with tables and chairs (Not good for your child in my opinion, my 3 yr old neice was going nuts in there).

Fulton's Crab House is great seafood! It's going to cost a few dollars, but it's good.

If you want more fun, head up the road to Margaritaville! It's at Citywalk (Universal). The Hard Rock is also there with other places to eat.

I also like Joe's Crab Shack right outside of the Downtown Disney area. It's not too expensive and offers a fun atmosphere!

Have fun!

Hey thewdwguru,

I'd recommend hitting Wolfgang Puck's sit down side of his restaraunt. There's an express, and then there's a more casual sit down part of it where the food is amazing! Very, very good. I would not however, go to Bongo's. The food isn't very great, the place is beautiful, but the food is just blah.

Out of Disney, I say go to Tu Tu Tango's!! I can't remember where it is, but I think it was off of International Drive, and right next to some fancy steak house. It's a VERY good place to go to!

Everytime we go my wife and I hit the House of Blues....great food, interesting selection and a fun atmosphere. Definitely stay away from Planet Hollywood...it's always crazy and the food is only O.K.

Everytime I go I have to eat at Fultons. I love that place. The food is outstanding. The twin alaskan lobster tails are awesome.

You do have options

Many of the suggestions give you an idea of the variety available. Rainforest may provide the best visual distraction for the young one, I like Wolfgang Puck (cafe) but it can be more difficult for a young one. There is also a Wolfgang Puck express on the opposite end of DTD (near the entrance from the hotels) where the food is good, but you take it out cafeteria style and eat outside on tables. Fultons is good and many do like Planet Hollywood as older kids find it entertaining.

My main suggestion however is to go early. All, places get crowded starting at 5:30-6, so try earlier.

Enjoy, and GO TIGERS!

Remember, just because you aren't staying at a Disney Resort doesn't mean you can eat there. You might want to head over to one of the resorts (get a bus at DTD) and try the Disney restaurants.

Hey!

Yeah.. Wolfgang Puck's sit down part of their restaurants. There is also a really nice place at the AKL called Jiko's. Like stStarIC2nite said.. this place in Orlando called Tu Tu Tangos also has awesome food.

Enjoy your trip :)

I would say that a definate is RFC! It's great food and the whole theme of the restaurant is out of this world!. I would stay away from Planet Hollywood. The food isnt anything special and if your traveling with a little one it might be hard to get around considering who close all the tables are. I've always wanted to try Bongos however I've heard that the food is a bit spicy because the restaurant has a cuban vibe going. Hope this helped you and good luck with your trip!
