We'll be at WDW and US/IOA Jan 23-Feb 1.:sohappy: :sohappy: So Far we're doing lunch at LTT at MK on Fri 1/24, lunch at Mythos at IOA on Mon 1/27 and the Character Dinner at Chef Mickey's on Wed 1/29. What other restaurants would you all suggest? We'll eat most anything, so all suggestions are welcome. I've eaten at the Yachtsman Steakhouse and enjoyed it, so we may eat there, and Boma sounds really good too, but neither one of those are set in stone.

Cheers:wave:

PS...Wed 1/29 we're going to IOA. It closes at 5 or 6 so we'll be back at WDW by 7 at the latest. How late can I make a PS for Chef Mickeys and do we need to dress up for it?

Alfredo's at Italy in EPCOT.

The Brown Derby (with reserved Fantasmic Seats) in MGM.

The Columbia Harbour House (I know its fast food) at the Magic Kingdom - and make sure you sit upstairs during non-normal eating hours. You can sit right on the bridge between Fantasyland and Liberty Square and watch all the people (weird and normal) go by.

Rainforest Cafe - Animal Kingdom - Just gotta do it once. The one at Downtown Disney is neat too, but always more crowded.

Restaurant to Avoid - House of Blues - Downtown Disney - worst food on property, hands down.

BRING BACK MINNIE MIA'S Italian Eatery!!!!!!!!!
And Goofy's Grill!!!!

:D Didn't mean it that way. It's just for over $100 for two people, I expected more than a meal I could get at Red Lobster for less than $50 for two.

Actually, I like Red Lobster more than Coral Reef food wise, but you just can't beat that tank view at Coral Reef. Oh well, I did it once, so now I don't need to ever go back. :D

I've eaten at alot of the places in WDW, I'll order my top 5 preferences:

1. Chef de France (Love this place!!!)
2. Liberty Tree Tavern (Lot's of fun!)
3. Artists Point (Mmmmm)
4. Rose and Crown
5. L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante (But my wife hates the crowded room)

We are trying Ohanna's, Cinderallas Castle, Garden Grill, and Narcoossee's on our trip in Oct. Those are 4 I never ate at yet. Next year, I want to try the The Flying Fish, I've so many good things about it. :)

Yep, I've eaten there a few times. They are good, but a bit loud and crowded at times. But still, much better that Coral Reef, IMHO. :)

Where the heck is Throop PA? :D

near scranton, about and hour and a half north of philly.

Romulan Ale? Why Jax, you know that stuff is illegal.

Anyways, my family and I have been to WDW many times and have developed some favorite restaurants. The thing with food at WDW is that I NEVER feel like it's worth the money. So what you do is just say to yourself "It's my vacation, I'm going to overspend on food and not worry about it!". Break out the debit or credit card and don't even look at prices or bills. If you have to pay cash it will be hard to ignore the enormous amounts you're forking out and it will harm your experience. We always eat breakfast and a late lunch, skipping dinner as the prices are always much higher then. If anything we eat a snack for dinner. We went with my grandparents one time and my grandpa is a huge tightwad. He complained about food and food prices incessantly and it was probably the least enjoyable trip we've ever had. (He's got PLENTY of money, BTW) On to the restaurants...

The Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL is almost always a stop for a breakfast and a lunch. Great food, decent prices.

The Land Grille (or whatever they're calling it now) has also always been a wonderful lunch experience for us.

Rainforest Cafe does not have the best food but it is well worth it for the wonderful theming.

Kona Cafe in the Polynesian is a terrific breakfast stop.

Boatwright's in PO:Riverside is also a great breakfast.

The Coral Reef has been a wonderful experience for us. The food we ordered was wonderful and it was very romantic for our honeymoon. Our server noticed and we got two complementary desserts!:slurp: We're probably customers for life.

When we were down there the portions were not that bad. We ate at the castle and I ordered the mussles for an apitiser it was like $6 but the portion was huge there must have been 2 dozen mussles on the plate. I never had any problems with the portions especially at the buffets. and if he is that much of a tight wad to complaign when he is on vacation, especially the quality of food in disney, just leave him home next time. it's his loss.

The only place I know to get Romulan Ale is at Quark's Bar and Grill on the bottom level of Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton.:) Loved the Experience, although the ride film needs to be updated, but Quark's was not very good. Cool bar, but BAD BAD restaurant...

Cheers

If you want to try and REALLY nice dinner without kids, go for Victoria and Albert's...you absolutely have to dress up but it is an amazing dinner...and don't forget to order coffee!

A dinning must is: Cinderella's Royal Table, try a very late lunch (3:30 to 4:30) and you won't have to eat dinner, besides the lunch portions were very large. The atmosphere and service is the best.

The coral reef is very good choice, but remember it will be seafood and you get opportunity to try some exotic items, like Alligator sausage (which was fantastic).

The Rainforest Cafe (at Ak) and The Garden Grill (at the Land in Epcot) are both great choices for breakfast. Rainforest Cafe for its entertaining theming and The Garden Grill for is volume of food, plus sometimes they have character breakfasts.

Quarks Bar, ha, ha, ha!!! I stumbled upon that place quite literally, and really enjoyed it above all else in Vegas. Couldn't do the costers cause of kids and a chicken wife, gambling really sucked but, in the name of Khan, thats a cool set up they got there and my Romulan Ale as well as my Ferengi wrap was out of this world! (snicker, snort!)

Has it ever occured to anyone that there might be other reasons that people don't wish to pay the price at the resturants (especially the buffets & dinner shows ) at Disney? Lord knows I spend a ton on vacation...those are just places I can't drop the $$.

Anyway, maybe it's not always that people are being tight...

Hiya Cymbaldiva.:) I eat enough that buffets are a good deal for me, so I eat lots of buffets when I'm on vacation. For our upcoming trip, the only person I have to feed is me. Fortunately for me, a late lunch at 3pm or so is my big meal of the day so I can eat cheaper than some people. At WDW, it's strictly fast food or snacks at night. We're gonna do 1 character dinner, probably at Chef Mickey's, but that'll be the only big dinner we'll do all week.

Cheers
