Restaurant capacity and live entertainment restrictions are currently limiting Walt Disney World theme park attendance according to Bob Chapek

Any live entertainment and restaurant capacity restrictions are also entirely within the hands of the company to correct in the Swamps. Sure, it's more costly to staff performances and restaurants now than it was 2 years ago, but that's on his team of merry ***** to fix, not on anyone else.
Well that’s the thing too…

“we can’t get staff…at what we’re willing to pay”

well all hail the free market…and the market is telling you to pay more.

its really a positive…one of the few right now.

My local Panda Express is fully staffed and paying $16 an hour.

Meanwhile, the neighboring Burger King is complaining about being short staff while paying $8. No sympathy for companies complaining about labor shortages.

PERIODT.

Any time "labor shortage" is uttered, my eyes roll so far back in my head. Plenty of people want to work, but the wages don't support the cost of living, especially in Orlando with raising rent prices.

I have been cursed by God with the gift of thought. As I think about it more and more, what live entertainment is currently shelved? Fantasmic, VotLM, and Finding Nemo? Most outdoor entertainment got rolled back into action throughout the quarter, from the big (IJESS) to the small (VoL and various outdoor performances around World Showcase).

Day parades aren't back, but that's gotta be nothing outside of staffing for day parades and bad capital outlay/cynical management for a complete lack of a night parade in the most popular park in the history of the earth.

From my last wo trips to the swamps to visit friends and family, I can tell you that if the dining venue was a popular one, it was a packed one. There is no one to blame except the executive team from the CEO down to whoever they conned into managing TDO.

…the thought occurred.

its not incredibly hard to see what the strategy has been for the last 6 months or so…

Orlando is a vulture market…that’s why it’s miserable. Rent goes up with any advertised pay increases or staff shortages…and then some.

that being said…the easy way for Disney to staff is to pay more and STEAL them.

that was on the tablet that Moses brought down from the mountain. Tale as old as time
