While I'm glad it's there (and I've read it's now free, weeee, that's 10 bucks a day saved!)...I am skeptical.

WiFi isn't like copper, in terms of QoS. And, since I work in technology, even when I'm on vacation I must have some sort of reliable internet for at least part of the day.

In 2010, CB wasn't offering copper, only WiFi, and it was disastrously slow. When I went back in 2011 (same hotel) they did have copper in the rooms, and it was much better.

I dunno, call me old fashioned, but unless they've mounted a LOT of repeaters, and shoved a huge pipe at the other end, it could be very unpleasant if you require bandwidth and/or low latency.

I'd have rather see them improve cel tower service then free wifi, and just leave it with copper. If you want a "hot spot", just bring your own router.

I used it during my last trip staying at Beach Club and POR. I never had any problems connecting, and I was able to browse the internet just fine. Honestly, no complaints as far as I am concerned. No, it wasn't quite as fast as what I have at home, but I'm not on vacation to sit around and surf the internet all day. Again, no problems and I always had a good signal.

That is good to know. I'm hoping that the WiFi is good (I don't need excellent, I'm not downloading torrents or anything)...but I do need to be able to remote into servers and transfer files, etc. It comes with my job. So, it's sortof a sore point with me.

When I had it at CB in 2010, it was so bad that I had to pause youtube videos to allow them to buffer...and that is ridiculous service levels, when copper can give you far better. I was glad to see a copper connection when I went back in 2011. And the service was fine for my needs...but the cellular was not.

I'd try to service clients, and would consistently have to step out of my room and walk down the balcony to get bars on Sprint. I did, however, have a Verizon prepaid phone which seemed to work well all over the park...I'm sure there is a reason for this (note that the disney app is only on Verizon, or was in 2010/2011)

Nothing is worse then having to walk 60 feet to talk to someone, then 60 feet back to try something on the server, then 60 feet back to talk to them again...nightmare.

We found it abolutely fine, it was great for keeping in touch with our family and friends on facebook etc, and browse the net. We also used this site quite a lot to make sure we weren't missing anything!

We didn't spend hours online, but enjoyed it, and I could always tell if the others were awake in the mornings as their faces were lit up by their phones!

On my last trip, I took my ipad just in case, with no real intention to use it. But POFQ was running their free WiFi test during that period, and I was surprised that I ended up using it as much as I did. Usually, I like to pretend that the outside world doesn't exist when I'm at WDW, but it was kind of nice to be able to check news and weather to make sure nothing disasterous was happening outside the Disney bubble. I never had any connectivity issues and I thought it was fast enough for casual use. Crush, I think you'll be fine to do your surfing and uploading. Have a great trip!!:)

It is good to here some positive reviews for the WiFi definitely looking forward to using it when I am at OKW in August, don't know if anyone has had any experiences from OKW directly? Although I am sure it varies wildly in different areas.

Precisely what we usually do. Question is, now that they have enabled free WiFi, have they cut off the wired connectivity in the rooms? That's the trend we are seeing in hotel chains in our travels and it's incredibly irritating.

Crush, after all those fine beverages you have "tasted" throughout the parks, what kind of pictures might we find in your photo bucket?
