Resort TV - GONE!!

I was at WDW over Christmas and took my VCR. I planned to record resort TV. The bad news is it is gone. No more "Zip-a-de-do-da, Tip for Today." It has been replaced by a really boring: "Top 7 things at WDW" It runs about 15 minutes and is not much more than a commercial for Mission Space. The still have the Spanish version of Resort TV but the English versions are nowhere to be found.

Wasn't there a thread about this before?
My complaint from my trip in November is the Appliance Direct commercials have gone from non-stop to random.

Please say it isn't so!!

One more thing that was truely "Disney" for me has bitten the dust...

I'm starting to wonder why I want to go back - seems like everything I remember enjoying has gone.

Guys this was easily the worst part of my last trip. The new show is horrible. It barely covers the parks and it isn't half as good as the Have a Zip A Dee Do Dah show. The old show was more entertaining and alot more informative.

Now in the actress' defense I'm sure they told her to act as silly and as corny as possible but my gosh it's really bad. I really wanted to slap her by the end of it  j/k

I usually watch the "Zip" show about 3 or 4 times through on a trip and I didn't even finish this show. Very disapointing.

My ultimate goal since I was a wee pre-teen was to be the guy on that show! Go ahead, ask my family if you don't believe me! Or even my friends - it's practically all I talk about when I'm asked "what are you going to do one day?" It's been my goal to, when I get my degree, to run over there and tell them to put me on the list for that job. For me, getting people excited about the parks is the funnest part. I REALLY hope this is just a temporary hiatus.

you guys actually have time to watch TV when your down there. I never even turn it on. after a long day in the parks we usaually relax in the bath, go through souvineers, play any new cd's, take a nice long bath, explore the hotels, at night they can be real romantic. and go to bed, we usally have reservations somewhere real eairly like 6:30 or 7ish. so we almost NEVER turn on the TV.

'Tis a sad day... I can't believe this!! :(

Resort tv was the thing that made it sink in that I was actually AT WDW. It was what gave me the first actual reality check that I was enveloped in the Disney Magic.

Well, such is life with Eisner I guess.

Sounds like you have the time to watch TV as well, you just choose not to do so.

Might as well say... you have time to listen to new CD's!!! Same thing.

I can't answer for everyone else, but we usually turn the TV on while getting ready in the morning or just before going to bed at night, other than that... notta. But when we have the TV on at Disney it's either the Resort Channel or to get the latest forecast.

I couldn't take more than five minutes of that silly wench. They should have gotten the chick from the 'Great Hotel' series on the Travel Channel.

Joey-

You wouldn't look as cute in a two-piece...

...especially after picking it out of your crack after going down Summit Plummit!

This change is very old news to us WDW freaks who read the forums daily.I saw the new ones in November trip (cannot stand Chrissa)didnt really care for tip for today eather.I liked the ones from the 70s early 80s especially when river country opened. But we always love the commercials from our childhood the most.Yes tip for the day is still in spanish and appliance direct was still on in early December.I personally like the weather cannel local on the 8s with it listing WDW and not our Illinois weather:lol:

I too became addicted to the Weather Channel as we don't have one in the UK but I was very upset about Resort TV going and that dappy tart screaming about the attractions!!!!

Now everyone calm down! My parents were there 2 weeks ago and said it was still running. I want more confirmation before I begin to unleash hell.

I heard that walmart was buying the disney stores. Anyone??
