Resort/Stateroom key

This may be a bit of an off the wall question, but...My last DCL cruise was in 2002 (been WAY too long). At that point, they had the land/sea combinations and your WDW Resort room key was also your stateroom key on the cruise portion of the trip.

Now I realize DCL and WDW are not doing the land/sea combo anymore and there are no more cruise check-in desks at the resort. I was wondering if the single key system is still in effect or not...or even better if the magic band (which I understand works as a room key in the WDW resorts) is being deployed.

Thanks

You know what's funny?
In 2012 I did a cruise with a WDW resort pre-stay. I reserved it all through DCL, but except for transportation, everything was separate, including keys. I have another cruise and resort stay in April, and again, it will be the same thing. No magic bands on the cruise. DCL does have land & sea specials you can book by calling, but I do not believe it is the same as it was in 2002.
