Resort Specific Plates/Cups Making a Return?

Yep, those are the shirts. Trouble is he already has those. But they don't do moderate or value resorts anymore.:(

I would guess the number of people willing to spend $40+ on an All Star Music branded polo shirt is tiny though. I think offering golf/polo shirts at deluxe resorts makes more sense as the people who pay that money for a resort are more willing to pay for a nicer shirt.

Also All Star Music and Sport just don't lend themselves so much to nicer merchandise as there isn't anything as special about the resorts. As long as they offer pins, magnets, postcards and maybe another small souvenir that seems enough for the values.
Then offer a larger range for moderates and then even more resort specific for deluxe. For example Hawaiian shirts at Poly and maybe more ties at GF.

The top shirt was released on line and had to be ordered. Delivery wound up being in February for the holiday shirt. Let's not applaud them for that.

I think Disneyland are, but that doesn't mean WDW will. In general DL has never liked the generic cups/plates and as they use resuable plastic baskets with wax paper they don't actually use much of the same items as WDW anyway.

Disneyland Paris has its own branded cups - surely the more resorts that do this - the less cost effective it is for WDW to use the generic ones

If Disneyland does move toward resort-specific branding on "Disney Parks" items shared with Walt Disney World, there would really be no reason for Florida to continue using the generic design. If you aren't sharing with another resort anyway, might as well just label them as Disney World since that will be the only place they're used.

Do we really "know" there is a correlation between price paid for the resort and guests' willingness to buy nicer resort-specific merchandise? Certainly the value resorts formerly lent themselves to better-quality merchandise, as there was once a broader selection.

I know we use to collect the park specific paper goods when we were little. We loved coming home and eating on Disney World plates. It kept away the Disney hangover. I loved that they had Halloween paper cups this year. I know when I went to Disney for Christmas last year, they did not have them. It might sound silly but it is the little things.

If a magnet or piece of art work suffices, but there are still no resort specific clothing at the resorts outside the Deluxe and DVC resorts.
Not true. AofA has really nice Nike Golf shirts. This pic is from themouseforless website as I couldn't find the shirts in the background of any of our pics. DH considered a purchase during our last trip until we saw the price tag.
They actually had a lot of resort-specific clothing.

I remember when they had colored plastic forks, spoons, and knives. I may or may not still have one or two of each stuffed away somewhere, I honestly don't remember.

We miss those too and back in the day........... each park had it's own specific merchandise. Not like now where you find the same items in all the parks and the resorts too. My husband always bought a collared, knit shirt from each resort and he wears them now when we go back to that specific one and always got lots of comments on them from CMs because they do not make shirts like that anymore.
Awesome!!! Any way you could post a picture, I would love to see it. (sorry if you already did)

I never even thought of this. I'm hoping they focus on getting permanent stuff right. the stuff you toss in the trash was never something i ever gave much attention.
