Resort Special Requests

Call CRO about 45 days before your arrival and make the request. You might also want to call again 20 days in advance just to make sure.

Then call the resort directly 5 days in advance to make the request. This is when room assignments are given out.

You can reserve a resort room as early as you want.

This will be done by the Central Reservations Office (CRO)

However...specific rooms are not assigned until 3 days before your arrival.

In other words...you may request a Tower room with a view of the Magic Kingdom on the 9th floor a year in advance of your arrival, but there is no guarentee that you will get it.

If you fax or phone your resort directly more than 3 days before your arrival, they will simply forward your info to CRO.

We usually stay at the Contemporary Resort. We Fax them directly 3 days before our arrival and ask for specifics..ie....view...floor...request for refrigerator...etc.

We have always gotten every thing we have requested.:)

Get the phone number for the resort that you are staying in.... Call that number ON THE DAY....that you will arrive... Let them know that you will be in late and would like to be assigned a room..... the known "express" check outs for the resorts are completed and posted on the doors by 7:00 AM...it is not until then that they can start the daily assignments....If you call soon after 7:00...they will be able to post your room and give you the number.... be sure to get the persons name that gave you the post..... :)

I wasn't aware that you can request a refridgerator in advance, that's ggod news.

When staying off-site the hotels have generally just given us a card with a telephone number to call.

If the hotel staff will arrange it that is mucha better.

Okay, so two different things. Fax your info three or four days before, or call up on the day. Which would you say is best? Will they get ticked off if you make the request months in advance at CRO, then call up 45 days in advance, then again 20 days in advance, then fax them something four days in advance, then call on the day of check-in at 7:30AM?????? Is this not overkill?????

 I suppose so...

By the way, does the refrigerator COST extra? And all this advanced thing works for choosing All-Star buildings as well, right?

Yes....If you request a refrigerator for your room, it will cost you 10 dollars a day.

There are exceptions...If you are staying at a Conceirge level room the Refrigerators are complimentory but you still have to request one in advance or when you check in.

I also believe..but I'm not 100% sure of this, if you need a refridgerator for medical reasons Disney will provide one free of charge.

Please Please PLEASE don't take my word on this though people. Things change from day to day at Disney World so call ahead and ask.:)

In regards to special requests....we are going to be staying at the Contemporary May 1- May 8. We are scheduled for a garden wing room. What would be the best view? or room? This is my first time onsite. We originally wanted a tower room but none were available.

Thanks:animwink:

Request the NORTH Garden wing, close to the main building. (less walking)

Then request a WATER view. (a nice view of Bay lake) as opposed to the GARDEN View which is basically a view of the Parking Lot.

Good luck
I hope this helps.

We will be at the Contemporary from April 27th to the 4th of May. Maybe our paths will cross.
:animwink:

I'll be easy to spot...I will have tattoos on both shoulders and a Great Big I Love Disney SMILE on my face.:D

I´m not sure of how it works at Disney, but I worked for Hyatt and one of my duties was to assign the rooms for the guests.... according to their special requests and comments if they were returning guests.

I would suggest you to tell your special requests from the day you book your room. For us, there was a special line on the system to put any comment or special request the guest had, and it was my obligation (and also front desk clerks) to read and pay attention to that line when assigning a room. I´m assuming that the same goes for Disney. I would again call the hotel a few days in advance to get a confirmation of my request. Of course, many times, even requesting it in advance, there is a possiblity that what you requested is not available when you arrive to the hotel. :animwink: Good luck!

Is it better to fax or phone the hotel directly? If you fax the hotel - how should I word our requests? We are staying at CBR and think we would like to stay in either Jamaca or Aruba. I have heard those are the best (close to the food court, etc...).

If I were in your case, I would fax my request just to make sure there is a written proof that I requested something special. I would address the fax to the Reservations Manager and/or Guest Relations Manageror Front Desk Manager. Ask for a written confirmation via fax or email too; that way you will have a copy of it in your hands when you get to the hotel. If you already have a reservation, make sure you tell them the confirmation number and the exact name under it was made, so there are no confusions. It is always good to mention your arrival and departure dates, and the number of beds you need in the room, the reservations department will love you, and whoever assigns rooms too! (I was GR Manager and had hard times blocking rooms when I didn´t know many details, and just had to guess.)

Why Oh Why do I pay Extra for good rooms, when you all think you can just Request an Upgrade? A Water View at the Contemp Is Extra.
The Wing Options are Garden or Standard (Parking Lot)
Just like how I stayed at the Tower Club this previous trip, and it was sooo funny how many people were trying to get upgrades..
And Same goes for First Class on American. I paid full fare for my ticket, and dont want some family with 4 kids who probally paid discount coach coming into First Class and acting crazy(ive seen it, if you dont beleive me, stand next to the Gate Agent's booth and listen)

Bottom line is, most of the time, You CANT get somthing for nothing!!!

Anyways in reply to the original post :-)
DONT use CRO to ask for your requests, fax it directly to the Room Assignor at the Resort of Your Choice

You pay extra for good rooms, first class airfare, etc. so you will be sure that you get them! I see nothing wrong with asking for an upgrade, just in EXPECTING an upgrade! What's the harm in asking to be placed in a room/seat that would otherwise go unused? The resorts always hold back a few rooms for that "walk up" guest who wants to pay top rate at the last minute; the rest would remain empty unless filled by upgrades. I think it's in their best interest to offer/assign them to promote good will. There's a chance that the guest might be so spoiled that he'll always want "the best", even if he has to pay extra for it! ;)
