Resort Reviews online

Now I know Disney should be held to a different standard....now that I got that out of the way.

Every time I do my research for a new hotel to visit when we plan our vacation I like to read reviews. I always seem to come across the people who knit-pick everything and sound like whining little kids. The simplest things people will complain about. It kinda turns me off of the idea of that hotel, because you don't know fact from peoples uppity opinion. They almost always want something to compensate them as well for the minor-est things. Now somethings I can understand we pay good money, and should be compensated for some deficiencies . Maybe its because I've slept in some pretty harsh places, but I like to think even the "crappiest" room in a Disney hotel is a cut above the rest. I've have never found anything wrong at any of the hotel we have stayed in. Coronado had so-so reviews and it was great. People just need to stop complaining about the simplest things.

Am I the only who feels this way?

Nope. I TOTALLY agree. Tripadvisor has horrible reviews of Disney resorts in Orlando!:( I don't get it! I wouldn't stay anywhere else when at Disney other than a Disney resort! That's just me! I have NEVER had any problems, even w/ the value resorts! To each his own, I guess!:D

C'mon....it's the internet. People LOVE to flap their fingers and be experts or critics without fear of reprisal or rebuttal but when it comes down to it for all of their gripes they keep going back. If their experience was so bad they would go elsewhere....which they don't.

Trip Advisor is full of cry-baby reviews and I have never experienced any of the bad things that they say they had to "suffer" through.

Me. I also read reviews on everything before we go but have learned to take them with a grain of salt. So many people expect everything to be perfect and there is no such thing. I am thrilled to be on vacation or simply eating out so I am not looking for stuff to complain about, I just want to have fun and enjoy myself. Most of the stuff people complain about would not ruin their vacation anyway. Like you said, whiners.

Yup, I will always try and stay on location when I visit.

About 6 years ago (last time I was at Disney) some friends and I decided we'd try to save a few dollars by staying off-property. After one night we all realized the gravity of our mistakes. Never again will I stay off location if I can avoid it.

I agree that most people nit pic when writing reviews. I definitely hate it when people give a resort a bad grade because of the busses. The busses have nothing to do with the resort and should be reviewed separately. I also hate the "the hallways are so long"...people and give a bad review because they are lazy.

I go to allears.net for reviews and most people do a good job but you have complainers everwhere you go.

I think part of the problem also is that folks are more apt to post a bad review than a good one, so the proportion of bad reviews to good reviews gets a little skewed. For us, unless something gets consistently horrible reviews, we like to try it for ourselves. What does not appeal to one person may not matter in the least to us.

I agree - that's why I don't read them - not about Disney hotels anyway. I go on Disney sites to get proper reviews of the hotels. Also, I do a lot of reading and research about the Disney hotels.

I take reviews with a grain of salt. So many people rush to complain to the masses from the pulpit the seconds something isn't 100% right for them. Yet many people just plum forget to post a positive review
