Anyone have any favorite resort restaurants. We have a free day in the middle of our trip in September, but lol we still have to eat. Unfortunately my favorite California grill and Citricos are out. we've got a few picky eaters. ;)

TIA

How picky? Hoop De Doo for dinner thats fried chicken etc (also could get the same fried chicken to go at Ft Wilderness if you wanted to picnic). Cafe at Grand Floridian, Kona Cafe or Ohana. Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. Give us some idea of the pickiness level :)

Not into sushi, lol of course the love pasta but I already have that for one night, as well as steak. They definitely are comfort food lovers. Can't get them to try Boma😩

Springs is something to consider for sure if your taking a non park day. Tons of good options there. Homecomin, Boathouse, Cookes if they like fish and chips. Plenty to try.

Boma is as American as it gets except for a few items.... I couldn't travel with people like this.... Good luck!

Seconding Cape May Cafe, my family loves that place. From the perspective of worrying about what picky kids will eat, the seafood has some very simple options (like breaded cod nuggets or fried clam strips), it includes a little kid section with stuff like pizza and macaroni and cheese, and even the desserts have simple cookies and cupcakes.

It's not open for lunch, though, if that's important.

Steak 71 for lunch is great, Dinner not so much IMHO. No steaks but the sandwiches are upper class. Turf Club for dinner, Great Prime Rib.
Used to Love Olivia's, but after covid, the menu went generic. It still is a good restaurant, but doesn't have the old vibe. Hard to describe, to me, it's not the same. Now the place that I will scream from the mountain tops.... Polite Pig!!!!!! Quick, Tasty, and Satisfying.

If you ask for a steak for lunch at 71 they will usually be happy to cook one for you.

City works is very American and decent, and decent. The Edison is another fun option in DS.
Inexpensive option is Blaze. Everyone gets to pick the exact pizza toppings they want.
At the hotels, the eateries at Riviera are pretty good. Topolino's Terrace is $$$, and not enough produce (dinner), but the food was very good. Menu slightly limited, but you get benefit of the balcony. It is a nice view if you have never been. I hear good things about breakfast, though have not tried it.

The QS there was also pretty good, and nothing too exotic.

Another option maybe is to take a look at what the Swan and Dolphin have to offer.

Still one more option you might not have considered is to dine offsite. Even if you have to pay for transportation, the lower cost (of dining offsite) might more than make up for it. I would not say Miller's Ale House is all that exciting, but decent American pub food. There are lots of very new QS options over in Flamingo Crossing, though most are chains. There are tons more options too. I haven't been in years, but Celebration Town Tavern is very god American restaurant in Celebration. It continues to get high ratings from what I've seen.

Boma has a phenomenal breakfast/brunch buffet; we always go there once a trip. And of course Animal Kingdom Lodge is just fun to visit in general.

Otherwise I'd agree that Disney Springs is a good option if you aren't determined to go to a resort -- Polite Pig is the best QS on property (and probably better than the majority of TS restaurants at Disney), and I'd assume picky eaters are okay with smoked meats!

D-Luxe Burger is also solid (nothing special but much better than the QS burgers you can get anywhere else at Disney), and Pizza Ponte is good pizza as other QS options at Disney Springs. I know Blaze is also a pizza option at DS, but Blaze is a massive chain you can get nearly anywhere, and Pizza Ponte is of much higher quality than Blaze anyways.
