We started doing a family vacation at Fort Wilderness Cabins last year(bringing back a tradition I did with my parents when i was a kid). Normally I would book the cabin at normal rate, and wait for new better deals/rates to post and modify.

Well it seems all the room were already booked within 1 week of the Magical Holiday promotion that is available. What are some tips for people to jump on these deals ASAP, as the WDW representative said they dont even know when these deals come out.

Any guidance would be great. Thank you.

So a travel agent will know when new prices come out every cpl months, in order to secure the limited number of rooms available for the discount?

Some TAs might. Some of the time. Watch for new resort discounts being offered to Disney Visa customers. That offer is usually opened to the general public in a day or 2. There are a couple of websites that track these. Sending you a PM.

I called with in hours of new offer also we received 2 unique codes! And were unable to use any of them. I find it a little annoying that I get a code and it isn’t any good with in hours of getting it. Guess it isn’t too unique!

What I found the past couple of years is that these promotions disappear very quick. if a TA increases the odds then I'd say go for it.

It seems that disney curtails the promotions on popular resorts, so its difficult to snag one, unless you're downright religious in checking on them.

What date are you planning on going? We were able to snag one for the week of Halloween and there are some still available.

And they can open up over a couple of weeks at least, and may not show up on the website. So worth phoning and asking.

That's where a TA can help too. Not because they necessarily get advance notice, although sometimes they do, but because they can keep their eye on the offers and have their own line to the CRO.

Booking a room in advance does not lock in a spot if a promotion gets released like many think. If anything, it reduces the chance of a promotion being offered.

Disney runs promotions based on projected booking rates. If a resort is coming in below projections they put the rooms on sale. If they meet or exceed projections they don't. All booking a room in advance does is pushes the needle ever so slightly toward the "no promotion" side of the meter.

Even if your dates and room are included in the promotion, having it already booked does nothing to increase your chances of getting it. What actually happens in the background when a CM applies a discount to your reservation is a re-book and a cancelation. The room that was put on sale now becomes your room and your old room goes back into regular inventory. If all the on sale rooms get booked up before you call, you are out of luck.

This is where booking through an agency like Kingdom Konsultants comes into play. When you book through them and a promotion drops, they are on the phone the second the phones open to get your reservation re-booked. It is not uncommon for the vast majority of rooms undera promotion to be gone inside of an hour or less.

Yes and no. Many of the good Disney TAs will try to rebook your booking if any new discounts come out that you are eligible for without you having to do anything. But they don't know about them much in advance, I think they might get a day at most. But many TAs don't secure rooms in advance. There are few that book blocks of rooms they then offer to guests, but usually they only book them as guests require.

Not only that. A lot of the UK travel companies that block book rooms the offer their own deals on them. They've already paid for them, or at least agreed a price for them, so it's up to them what deals they want to offer. But they are under no obligation to match the Disney offers.

I realise that's slightly different, being the UK has it's own offers from Disney direct, but a similar approach would come into play if a US TA block books x number of rooms. MVT are a case in point, they often offer good deals and that's their own marketing team who work out what they can "afford" to offer.

If you want the latest offer, go to @Kingdom Konsultant. They're a board sponsor, you can't go wrong with them. The last round of offers that came out, people were on here complaining they couldn't get through. Pam was posting saying " email us now, we can get you the deal". And they did!
