Resort Parking

If you stay at a Disney resort, do you have unlimited access to other resorts parking lots. The reason I am asking is because on our last trip a few years ago we were staying at POFQ and we went over to tour GF, Poly, and Cont. and when we parked in the Polynesian lot the attendant handed us a slip and said we had three hours. So this year we are staying at AKL and wanted to drive over and park at the Boardwalk to eat at Spoodles and then walk over to MGM to see Fantasmic and are wondering if we will get in trouble if we leave our car at the Boardwalk for more than 3 hours.

I should think that you would be okay especially since you are a resort guest. However, disney has gotten very strict in recent years with parking in resorts. Back in the day we used to get around the parking fee by parking at the poly and taking the monorail to MK. Yes, I know, it was wrong to cheat.:D

I'm not 100% but I thought that you could only park at a resort if you were a) staying there or b) had dinner reservations for a restaurant in that resort.

The last trip you visited monorail/MK resorts and they do have time limits for those not staying there. This prevents people from parking all day and visiting the parks.

You do not have to worry about the Boardwalk lot even if you were staying off site. This is an entertainment and dining destination (similar to DTD) and there is a separate lot away from the resort one. Whenever we visit WDW we always valet park our car and since this is only a daily fee not a per use fee, we valet park at the Boardwalk too since the visitor lot is quite a hike.

No, you can park there even if you just want to look around or shop. You do have to stop at the guard shack and check in and you may be given a temporary pass.
