A bridge, walk way SOMETHING connecting MK with TTC and the other monorail resorts other than the boat and monorail.
We have horrid luck with our exhausted 6 kids leaving MK only to find a monorail down and the boat line longer than Frozen Ever After. We would have happily walked the distance just to stay moving and not standing.
Seriously though exiting that park is a PIA even when both forms of transport are working.

I'm sure UberBoat has already tried getting in ;)

Usually they bring the big boats when its crowded though. At least there's benches to sit on while waiting.

MK - World Drive (sidewalked through the tunnel) - TTC.

As a regular guest of the Grand Floridian, it's at times like these when I seriously wish that Disney would simply buy a surplus bridging vehicle or pontoon bridge units and use them to bridge the light parade canal, so people could walk from the Magic Kingdom.

They could even class it up by painting it white and red, sticking a few topiary planters on it, and calling it a day.

In the days where guest service was a priority, they would have completed the walk around the world as was originally intended back in the 1990s. This would involve a bridge or drawbridge at the canal where the light parade boats are stored between the MK and the GF.

Today, Disney would never even consider this not only due to installation cost, but also maintenance of said drawbridge, security staffing, etc. In their eyes, there simply is no direct ROI so it's not worth it to them, sadly.

Wow I'm just surprised WDWToday responded. But transportation is a disaster and these parks need double the things to do. All of them. They just can't handle the crowds anymore. It's not pleasant or fun.

Amen.

Yesterday the wait to exit the park and get to the ferry boats or buses was insane. I almost walked from MK to Contemporary and to the parking lots. Yeah, it might be a mile plus, but it would've been worth it over waiting over an hour just to get back to my car.

I doubt they want hordes of people striking out in the dark to get back to the TTC. Think of all the fence they would have to build to keep the people safe from the lake and out of the woods. Might have been a good plan when they started building the walkway but not so much today.

Would be cool to have an enclosed People Mover to get you to and from the lot.

If they wanted to make some money and partially solve the congestion problem, at least for those most bugged by it, they should have a fleet of Disney Taxis parked at the Contemporary to drive people to the TTC for a flat rate of $5.

So while the hordes brave the ferries and monorails, those in the know take the leisurely stroll to the resort, then hop in a cab to take them back to their car, before the others have even made it onto the boat.

Or even better, just introduce a $75 resort-park parking pass that lets you skip the TTC and leave your car in the Contemporary parking lot all day instead.

Or streamline and prioritize transportation to deal with the massive crowds that are a regular occurance at the MK? I mean security theater coupled with year over year attendance increases met with the same transportation capacity to the TTC since......but yeah your right up charge it all screw improving our product let's just up sell solutions and or additional products to circumvent our other product.

I'm not for this resort parking pass. Terrible idea imo. The lots are crowded enough as it is.

The cab thing I agree with, but they are already there..Uber is right there as well.

..or just walk to the Contemporary and go from there.

Agree. It's unrealistic and too costly.[/QUOTE]
