Resort Hopping

My DH and I are going down for a long weekend in early May. This is our first trip without the kids. We have decided not to go to the Parks one day, but tour some of the resorts that we haven't been to. We have only been to POR, Contemporary, & Poly. We have reservations at Sanaa for dinner, we have never been here and excited to give it a try. Any suggestions for must see resorts?

Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, and the Boardwalk are fun to visit.

Wilderness Lodge is a great place to check out! There are "hidden" areas with comfy chairs on different floors to just sit back and relax in! We always enjoy going there! There's just something about it from the moment you walk in. AWESOME!

Grand Floridian is a nice time as well. Mizner's Lounge is a fun place to grab a drink and sit! There is a full out band that plays(not sure of the times) and the piano player downstairs. A fancy time :) And its fun to pop on the monorail and do a resort tour :)

Our home resort is Saratoga Springs and we really do love it there. Mostly because its the 2 of us and we walk to DTD everyday.(might be a bit hairy while its transforming into Disney Springs) The resort gets a lot of flack for being too spread out and not having enough Disney magic but we truly feel at home there :) It's different for everyone :)

As others have stated. You must see the lobby of the Wilderness Lodge. It's breathtaking. Also, the EPCOT area resorts are others that come to mind.
Have a great trip!

So much of this boils down to personal preferences. WL and AKL have a number of visible similarities in design. Out of the two- I prefer AKL, so after you're done with Sanaa over at Kidani Village, you may want to pop into Jambo house. There's a shuttle, but it's a fairly simple walk. Beyond that, I love the GF's lobby and really like Boardwalk.

You should go see Art of Animation - there's a great Disney feel there. Perhaps not the height of design - but it captures a certain magic that is different than the higher end resorts. All the values have the same feel but AoA is newest and has a food court worth visiting for a different lunch.

Out of curiosity - is AoA ever priced below $100 per night?

I highly suggest taking the walk around the lagoon where the Boardwalk/Yacht&Beach Club/Swan& Dolphin hotels are. It is beautiful whether you do it during the day or at night. If you go at night, I recommend eating at the Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club!! Yuuuummmyyyy!!!!! (You could eat there for breakfast, too... It's a character breakfast). You can watch the fireworks of EPCOT or HS at night from the beach at the Dolphin or the Yacht&Beach Club. You could also get ice cream (or dinner) at Beaches & Cream in the Yacht Club... Also Yummmmyyyy!!! There is a lot to do and see here and it's right near DTD... Only a short bus ride away!!! There is also the Dueling Pianos bar and Jellyrolls for night life at Boardwalk... Good luck and I hope you enjoy whatever you decide to do
