I've stayed at both and voted for the WL. Why? We just like the atmosphere. We liked the Polynesian and the food was good. The kids loved the pool & watching the fireworks from the beach was a plus as was being on the monorail. The part we didn't like was that you had to go outside to get to everything. Not bad in the daytime , but a definate drawback at night and in the rain. We were soaked before we got to the main building. We had trouble following the trail late at night (we were in one of the last buildings). In the WL my kids can go to the snackbar & arcade by themselves & feel comfortable. I also think the snack bar in the WL has a better food selection & is larger.

My last stay was at the poly and we really enjoyed it. The only complaint i kinda had was that we were in a building that made us walk quite a distance around the boat area to get to the pool and the lobby other than that it was great. Funny thing is this year we are staying at the wl and can't wait.

I've stayed at WL & Poly. Our favorite is the WL. I also don't like having to walk ouside to get to everything, especially in the rain! We love the Northwest atmosphere at the WL, but also like the Polynesian atmosphere, so we usually dine at 'Ohana during our stay. We use the ferry transportation alot rather than a bus. When we go to Epcot, we ferry to the Contemporary then take the monorail to Epcot. It may not be the quickest, but we enjoy the ride. I can't comment on the Beach Club, since I've never stayed there.

Go for the Beach Club. The pool is awesome with the sand bottom and the slide. Definatly the best pool on the property. You also can walk to Epcot or MGM and have the Boardwalk right across the lagoon. Oh and don't forget the Cape May Cafe for the New England clam bake for dinner. Yum:slurp:

Well, you won't be wrong either way.

I voted for Poly because

1) You said you had been to WL two times previously, and I think it is fun to experience a number of different resorts.

2) When you said family, I am guessing there are multiple children. With kids, especially younger kids, I'm a great advocate of being on the monorail line. You can get in and out of MK and Epcot quickly for midday breaks, then an easy trip back in for the evening.

3) If you have some free time to yourself, like midway through your trip, you can walk over to the GF and get a spa treatment, massage or any number of pamperings, or the gym.

4) The pools are very nice and watersports are available right there.

5) You get leis upon arrival

6) Boat availability just like WL

7) As some people said, you may not like some of the rooms distant from the main lodge. I'm sure on check-in you can request something close or attached if that is an issue.

But really, any of the moderate or delux sites have a lot of unique and special features that are worth a visit. A number of folks I know usually split their time at two sites for each visit.

We do the same thing. Since we're on vacation we rarely rush around. The boat rides are very relaxing.

This is the same exact question I had people answer for me on the boards. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge now (stayed at Polynesian for the last two years).

Big difference in price there but if I had the moolah, I would stay at the Poly. I stayed there as a kid and there were 2 things that made it fun (and I'd have to agree to this day on the same 2 things):

1 - Monorail - just being on the monorail is a big +

2 - Pool - I know that there is a slide at the Wilderness Lodge but there is just something about the Ploy's slide that makes it seem better than the WL's.
