Resort guest for part of stay

I'm bringing my kids to WDW this summer. We have a 2 bedroom villa booked at the Beach Club Villas. My Mom is planning on staying two nights with us, but not going to any of the parks. She will visit the spa, pool, restaurants, and night shows. Do I need to get her registered and get her a magic band? She will likely pay cash for anything that she does while we are at the parks. I know the rooms are based on 2 adults, so I am assuming the price won't change since it will just be her and I and my two kids.

When she arrives, take her to the front desk and tell them you have a day guest. As long as you aren't going over the room capacity, all will be fine. They will give her a key to your room. You may need to sign a form to authorize that.

DVC rooms are not based on number of adults in them. They are just total occupancy. Yes, get her on the room or she will not be able to visit the pool at all. They are extremely strict there on pool usage.

We are going to the Luau at Polynesian. I have her on that reservation already.

Unless you're buying the Dining Plan, go ahead and add her to the reservation now. She'll get a personalized MagicBand, Magical Express, and it'll just be easier. Since there will be no extra adult fee and you won't be going above the room occupancy, there's no issue.

But if you'll have the Dining Plan, you'll have to wait until you check in to add her. Otherwise she'll have to buy the Dining Plan for the entire length of the reservation.

The kids and I are doing the dining plan. Also she is a Florida resident so she will not be doing the Magical Express (we are only doing that when we leave).

Ah, ok. Then you'll have to wait until after you check in. (Heck, you can even do it right there at the front desk when you check in. The CM just needs to complete the check-in process before they can add her)
