Good Morning All...You know before booking PORS for the first time, I read about this huge layout of accommodation with miles of walking, and confusing layouts.....This was a bit off putting but we booked, and thankfully it was a lot of cods wallop. ( Rubbish ) The same goes for the food court..Yes reviews were mobbed with screaming kids....But going to the food court at 7.00am in July I was looking around and asking myself..Where is everybody.?:jawdrop:...So for anyone who is going to a Disney resort soon, what advice would you give to folks who are there for the first time...My times at PORS are as follows..Breakfast...6.45 till 7.30am....Lunch..11.00am till 12.00...Dinner...4.00 till 5.00pm...Evening Meal...7.30pm till 9.30pm...What would be your best times to avoid the crowds at your resort..??..;)

I'm out and about by between 5-5:30 am I;ll have coffe ans read the papper, take my morning walk around the resort and enjoy the quiet. If we are not eating a sitdown breakfast I'll stop by the QS in our reort and get coffee and pastry for DS and DW. For lunch I would agree 11:30-12noon or wait until 1pm.

Just returned from a week stay at The WL and I agree that the earlier is better at Roaring Forks. Once the clock hits the magic time of 8 AM, it is crowed, slow and very aggravating to say the least. The space is very small to begin with....add people carrying trays full of food and kids who can't decide what they want and you have the makings of a very stressful breakfast. Checkout is very slow due to the multiple ways that the food can be categorized on the DDP......what is a snack? what is a full breakfast? After 2 days, my husband went to RF early just to get coffee and we opted to make reservations at a TS restaurant....The Wave, Kona Cafe, Grand Floridian Cafe.....a much more relaxing way to stat the day! :cat:

Just like any of the in park dining locations, eating at non prime times is optimal to get smaller crowds. Anything prior to 8 in the morning is a good bet for breakfast (and a must do if you want to hit rope drop) 10-12, 2-5, 10-close should also be slower times. The key is going against the herd mentality.

Agreed. Follow the same mentality as you would as if you're in the parks. Definitely have meals during off-peak hours like a 3 o'clock lunch or early 4 o'clock dinner.

Not to many good times at all. I know 2pm is a good time and 8pm is not horrible. Deluxe food courts are usually quieter so that is why I stay there. But I love PORS food court.

Thanks for the tip! We will be staying at PORS next month for the first time and we want to get to the parks early and take our time.

ASMu the quietest time at the food court was around 7-7:30 AM, and mid-late afternoon 4:00 ish, then after 8:00 at night it seemed better. However it was hopping at 11:00 PM when everyone comes back from the parks- late night munchies anyone? BTW this was August

We usually get up around 6am to leave for the parks around 7:15 so we're usually at the food court by 7am and at POFQ it's a great time to be there, not many people milling around, full staff and hot fresh food. Normally we only grab drinks to go (I'm a huge fan of their hot chocolate even if it's hot outside) but we at there twice last trip and it's a very nice experience.

Although I do love the Deluxe Resorts...I do miss Port Orleans Riverside. I stayed there the first year it was openned...when it was Dixie Landings. I fell in love with the resort and stayed there every trip. I use to go to the food court after getting back from the parks (around 11:00) and finish the night with a pink lemonade and a personal pepperoni pizza...

ahh, those were the days

We stayed at POR for the first time for a few days in June. Holy Moley was the food court crowded at peak dining times. For one I think it always seemed to be pack b/c the actual area were you order food is extremely small IMO.
