Back when the Caribbean Beach Resort first opened there would be a steel drum band I wish that would come back they were pretty cool.
Yes that steel drum band was around for a few early years, and then only during peak holiday times, then disappeared. They used to play in the evenings out by Banana Cabana, and the music could be heard around the entire lake. It was so cool.

I think they used to have a single drummer set up at the Custom House too. And remember the lobby parrots and the parrots on Parrot Cay?

I don't remember a drummer in the Custom House but I do remember birds on Parrot Cay. My mom loved to go look at the birds.

I miss Ellliot Dyson so very much. His replacement is terrible!
I agree. I stayed at the French Quarter in late August/early September. The replacement was bad for most of the nights I was there. A person that I know talked the person in charge of the Scat Cat's Club. The women in charge said the change was made because people were at the Scat Cat's Club and wasn't spending money on drinks.

I can tell you the replacement wasn't even drawing the crowds as Elliot did on the days I was there.

I guess I should have known the replacement wasn't so great, because I haven't seen or heard anything about him. Mr. Dyson is definitely missed.
The reason I didn't mention anything before after my trip because I didn't know this topic existed and I didn't see anyone asking on any other topics on how good the replacement for Elliott is.

The change was made from a money standpoint. Management claimed a lot of people seeing Elliot perform wasn't spending money on drinks based on people that I know who talked to the manager of the Scat Cat's Club. The Manager said the change happened before she was hired and gave that reason on money being spent on drinks based on what she was told.

The replacement for Elliot when I was there wasn't draw people and didn't have a crowd reaction and the crowds at the Scat Cat's Club wasn't as packed on days the replacement for Eliot was when Elliot was there. The replacement didn't even try to interact with the crowd like Elliot did either.

With reasoning like this, YeeHaw Bob's days could be very limited. Now I feel guilty because I stopped and listened to the live music at GF, and just sat in the lobby.

I have been going to CBR for the past 10 years and have only ever seen entertainment once - it was at Christmas time and they brought over a local high school steel drum band to play holiday tunes. I thought it was great on two levels - 1. entertainment and 2. a high school had a steel drum band. They were awesome. Now the only nighttime entertainment at Banana Cabana is the nightly family movie and then whatever is on the tvs afterwards.
