Ok.I think I'am gonna regret asking this..Now as far as I can remember, there was no entertainment at CBR but Elliot Dyson was superb at POFQ.( and I'am not a huge jazz fan ).. And of course you have Mr Jackson at PORS..So I'am curious, does other resorts have entertainment in their lounges..Pretty sure I read that they had a Harpist at GF..:hilarious:..

Alright @real mad hatter (nice new avatar, by the way), I can give you some info on GF, as my DS's enthusiasm for jazz more than makes up for your lack thereof.

Really enjoyed listening to these guys. Their sets alternate with a pianist, who was very good, but not our cup of tea. No harpist, but interesting people watching. The GF lobby is a great place to relax for awhile, and you can enjoy an adult beverage at Mizner's. So glad we stopped by and listened, and relaxed, and enjoyed some A|C. I always thought I wouldn't enjoy GF because, like you, I thought it would be too "stuffy". Now, I look forward to taking a break there in the future.

Cool..Yeh I can go that laid back music, but staying ( even if I could afford it ) just isn't for me..I still get sweaty nightmares when we had a one night stay at a 7 star hotel in Dubai ( courtesy of my brother in law ) There was sheiks walking around with gold bracelets & Rolex watches everywhere I looked..My wife whispered in my ear,she said " everyone here looks like millionaires " I said " I know, just nod yer Heid " :cautious:

Can't say I noticed any gold bracelets and Rolex's, but my DD and I were staring (we didn't mean to, honest) at this one woman with wedge heels that reminded me a bit of the old platform shoes. She was sitting down, and DD and I were hoping she would move. We couldn't figure out how she would be able to walk in them. Then there was the inevitable bad plastic surgery lady. Most, though were dressed for a day in the parks. And looked just as hot and sweaty as we did I might add.

This reminds me - back in 2000 I think they had some kind of nightly ceremony at the Poly involving guys doing tricks with torches and stuff. I never saw it though. Anyone know about this? Maybe they still do it?

I remember this, they did this in the late 80's too. I don't know if it is still done but I hope they have kept up the tradition.

I miss Ellliot Dyson so very much. His replacement is terrible!
