Resort choice help

Hey everyone! Just looking for some advice/suggestions...Planning our 1-year anniversary trip this fall to WDW (we went to WDW and on a Disney cruise for our honeymoon), probably just a short 3-night stay, and hopefully the wife will be pregnant by then, which will mean no rides for her (but an extra fastpass for me! haha!), so we will be spending a lot of time at the resort. So here's the question: we were hoping to stay at Wilderness Lodge, but since it isn't on the FL resident discount list during that period, it is probably out of our price range. We will likely have to stay at a moderate level resort, which we have never done before (we usually stay at Pop, but since we will be spending lots of time at the resort we wanted something a bit nicer). If you had a 4-day, 3-night trip where you knew you would be spending a good deal of time at the resort, which one would you pick and why? We love the setting of WL and would love to stay there to relax but still be super close to MK, just doesn't look like we can swing it this time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I couldn't agree more. Port Orleans Riverside was the first thing that popped into my head when I read this. If your wifey is indeed pregnant by then, try to request a 1st floor room though because the resort has no elevators (it's only 2 floors though). I remember what it's like to be pregnant at Disney and trust me she will be very appreciative for your thoughtfulness. LOL!

Anyway, the "feeling" of being at POR is very similar to WL. Of course the theming is different but it's surrounded by thick foliage etc. and is very peaceful. The rooms are absolutely beautiful too! I like many of the other moderates but for what you're looking for, POR would undoubtedly be my first choice with POFQ (French Quarter) being a second for similar reasons (peaceful etc.).

I agree with Port Orleans we love both Riverside and French Quarter. You should call and ask about the Florida Resident Discount at WL because often times there is some discount at most hotels even if the hotel isn't listed. We've never had a problem getting the FL resident discount for the hotel we wanted.

Port Orleans French Quarter for sure. If she is pregnant by the time you go it might be better she does not do a lot of extra walking. I prefer the feeling of the Big Easy. Everything is close by and you can still enjoy all the stuff they have at Riverside. Dont forget to take a carrige ride.
