Resort Charges - cash, debit, credit card?

I will be spending my next stay between the Caribbean Beach resort and the Swan. (Side note I was going to do my first 5 days at ASMo but found the CB would only be $36 more total!)

Does anyone know what the incidental deposit or fees are for both resorts if you pay using a debit card or cash? How much extra is held on the credit card if I choose to use that? Also do they treat a debit Visa the same as a debit or a Visa?

My preferred method of payment is my debit Visa but if they hold an extra $200 or so for incidentals that I will never use I would rather use my credit card.

If anyone has insight I would appreciate it!

You're free to turn away free money... and free add-on services. me? I'll take it.
Very true - I've always said one day I'll get all of our bills set up to pay via cc, just to simplify things, but I never seem to get around to it...

I just couldn't help getting in a little dig at the way you provided such a financially sound, but ultimately unhelpful answer to the OP :D

We've used it several times now and it's pretty convenient to only have to carry your KTTW card for everything. We're trying to decide now whether or not to let our DD14 have charging privileges this trip...

Yes I am blissfully basking in the glory of DD only being 4 and I have time to prepare myself for things like that!

FWIW.. I've not either.. I pay my regular invoices via checking and not credit.. but any spending I put on credit. This way the vast majority of my expenses come in at regular intervals. Paying those bills via credit would take more effort than the centralized checking I have setup in quicken and that's probably why :)

Sometimes some people are so focused on how to solve a problem.. they often forget you can just make the entire problem go away if you just take a different path :)

One thing that hasn't been brought up about the Swan & Dolphin:

While you can add charging privileges to your room key, it can *not* be used all over WDW like the WDW resort room keys can. The Swan & Dolphin room charges can only be used *at* the Swan and Dolphin...

I do not know whether or not they put a hold on your card, though. (As has been stated already, the WDW resorts do *not* put a hold of any kind on your card. They simply "ping" the card with a charge of $0.00 to ensure that it's a valid account)

I'm pretty sure most of the restaurants accept the KTTW card for charges in DTD. I know we have used ours for many of the stores there, and I believe we used it at Earl a few years ago. Many of those restaurants are on the DDP, so I would think they also accept room charges.
