we are planning on staying june 5th - 10 with dining plan. if i go back and add our arrival nite (june 4th) to my reservation, will i also have to pay for another day of the dining plan. we wont arrive until 7 or 8 pm so i really dont want to pay for dining plan for 5 people for another day.
any info appreciated.

The dining plan is based on the number of nights you stay on a reservation, so if you add another night to your current reservation, you would need to add another day to the dining plan. Maybe try booking as a separate reservation? Or,you could pay for the extra day and then try one of the signaure dining places that take 2 credits, or one of the dinner shows (Hoop-Dee-Doo, Spirit of Aloha, etc).

If you aren't going to use / don't want to pay for the extra dining day, just book a room-only reservation for your arrival night

We are running into the same issue in May but the only rooms available are preferred in our resort so we will be opting for off-site reservations on the night we arrive at a Marriott branded hotel (with complimentary continental breakfast to boot)

I was going to chime in, but this poster has the same advice I was going to offer.

This might become a problem though if the OP intends to add an extra day of park passes though because it will cost much more to purchase a single day than to add on a day to the existing reservation.

If they add the extra park day to their longer reservation, Disney doesn't care. The cost would be so much less to add on the extra day on the original booking. All they have to do is use the days within 14 days if they don't get the no expire option.
