Resort Airline Check In Service testing a return

This is of almost no functional value.

I suppose not doing bags is good…but check in is done on the phone via app for all but like 9 old men on the planet…

…and if they don’t get YOU to the airport and back…what is the real point? Lyft and Mears gonna cut their prices now?

So if this is just to help Orlando (always a struggle for them) and Disney gets a little grease? Sure…why not?

Just doesn’t do much for us

It seems the main guest benefit, even if MDE doesn’t return is that however you get to the airport you don’t have to deal with luggage handling, a good benefit especially when dealing with kids. But if MCO is subsidizing the cost of the luggage then maybe that would make the whole OG MDE experience returning a little more cost effective

Another benefit is if you have a late flight and going to the parks, don’t have to go back to the resorts to gather your luggage

This is great to see though personally I think the bigger improvement would be the return of bags from the airport going to your room when you arrive at WDW. It sounds like that might be possible to return too and IMHO would be huge - the luggage handling was far and away the best part of the whole MDE stuff and a real distinguishing feature for WDW (tons of places have transfers from the airport).

Wholeheartedly disagree. When our kids were younger and we actually checked bags, the bag service was fantastic. We normally rented a car so we didn’t use MDE. Checking the bags at the resort and then going about whatever we wanted to do before heading to the airport was priceless. Not having to check bags at the airport while trying to wrangle two young kids made traveling so much easier.

I’m sure the shuttle was more significant, but we always drove and loved not having to haul our bags out of the rental and check them at the airport.

When it was first discontinued I was surprised at how many people used just the resort airline checkin.

It’s something…but upthread when the motivations were revealed…it seems Disney is just going along with it…not making an effort to provide more service

So? Why do I care who paying? The key thing to me is that the baggage handling was by far the most beneficial and awesome part of MDE. Sure I’d love to get an included shuttle service too that would be nice but I’d be thrilled with just being able to drop off my bags at my home airport and not seeing them again until they magically appear in my resort room later that day.
