The Houses were pretty much a shed with facade that resembles a house from a 100 degree field of view on the street side, If memory calls they are open in the back and have been used for storage. It's really no diffrent than the parks them selfs, with the Attractions inside warehouse buildings with a facade on the front to resemble the theme or story line for that attraction

That really rots! There were some famous houses on that street! Especially the Golden Girls House. They shouldn't have bulldozzed them. They should have done something else with them. What a shame!

We went on the Backlot tour a couple of times this past week. The first time you could see bits and pieces of residential street through the fence that is covered with black plastic tarp. Sunday when we went on it all you saw was trucks and trees and open space. Everything was gone in a weeks time.

Yeah, because it would be SOO difficult to build another.
It would simply be more cost effective for them to build another than for them to carefully take them all down and store them on the chance they may be needed again. The houses themselves were nothing special, just something you've seen on TV.
